I can honestly say I did not read into it to get that assumption. Where's the flag motif on the logo? Is it a specific flag? A series of coloured stripes. The gay ones

I honestly can't see that on the logo so I'll take your word for it.

8 out of the 11/12 shots in the trailer feature coloured stripes. It's all over it, and like you said, there's really nothing else there. It's not very subtle
From what I've seen, Overwatch has/had a big queer/shipping scene. They were clearly hoping to exploit that right from the off. It's just corporate cynicism

I'm not seeing it either, looks more like an 80's logo with the gradient.

Oh you could be right, I thought you meant the box art logo. I haven't looked at much to do with the game as it looks like absolute shite.

I think a lot of pubs are making a mistake in their analysis of the GAAS space in looking at the PvP shooter audience as one homogenous thing you can capture, as opposed to having the "I only want to play Tarkov/Fortnite/Apex" crowds. The number of floating players is pretty small and shifts from the big titles need something massive to really happen. It's like the crowd who don't "play video games", they play CoD. At that point it doesn't even matter if the thing you're doing is better. There's also just a generally dismissive attitude from "enthusiasts" at the moment in that they're not very good at actually identifying things they're looking at. In the sense of, when anything with stylised art gets announced, idiots say it "looks like Fortnite" or "looks like a Mobile game". If it's got classes in it, it "looks like an Overwatch clone", regardless of how accurate those things are. It's hard to get above that stuff. Wholeheartedly agree that players don't move around much. GAAS are by their very design supposed to hook in their players, so if one succeeds then there is a lot to lose by jumping ship to another title and having to go through loads of new battlepasses etc. On the second point though, that's on the developers and publishers, not the enthusiasts. I think it's entirely reasonable to want original worlds and presentation. Plus, devs and publishers _deliberately_ use 'generic' graphics because it very quickly communicates the genre in a world where attention spans are absolutely minimal. It's the same reason all the holiday reads in WHSmith at the airport look so homogeneous. The gaming industry has snookered itself imo. The combination of GAAS being a AAA genre and the fact AAA budgets are absolutely astronomical is really potent.

What is shipping in this context? This please. A lot of overwatch fans like to send things around the world in containers. This is apparently especially popular in the gay community.

Crazy. Didn't even notice the game had its own topic.
As I mentioned in the PS topic I could see this coming back as a F2P game but at the same time maybe it's best just to walk away from it completely. Wasn't the studio created just to make games like this?

It's so hard to come back with this type of game, sure it'll have that boost if it goes to F2P, people will have a look but the game that I played in the beta didn't have that longevity or excitement to it to make people stay. I mean some of the levels were just so unimaginative.

Maybe having a pre-rendered trailer that made the game look like an action adventure game but it turns out to be a PvP hero shooter wasn't the best marketing?

I mean some of the levels were just so unimaginative. The game had less players in the open beta than it did in the closed beta. Not sure f2p would help, genuinely. Plus the full game doesn't have microtransactions or a battle pass so it doesn't have that option to come back right away.

I agree, even if it went f2p, its not going to save the game

That's what I'm saying in the long run it doesn't matter the psychologist damage has already been done to the game. It must absolutely suck to work for so long and seeing this reaction.

I reckon Concord 2.0 will go the same way as Anthem 2.0 - the powers that be will eventually decide that there's no saving it, and pull the plug.
Either that, or they'll try a F2P relaunch and it'll bomb quickly (after an initial spike in interest).
It has to suck for the devs, and I genuinely feel sorry for them, but the only noteworthy thing about Concord is its failure.

I do feel for the devs. Here's hoping they get involved in more exciting projects, the talent is there.

The betas should have got them to hit the brakes and delay it and see how they could rejig it enough to get some interest.
I'd forgotten that in the SoP that the cinematic trailer it was in there was also the footage of Marvel Rivals that not only had very recognisable characters, the gameplay looked better but most importantly is F2P. Who thought having that follow it was a good idea to drum up business?
