Yeah fair. This is finally good. For people born between 1976 and 1988 at least.

I'd now like Will Ferrel in 'Frank The Tank' guise please.

He’s only going to extinguish it. He could have done it an hour and half ago and saved himself a long walk

They were so long winded with switching segments, the athletes thought it was over and started leaving

God they're dragging this out. Are the IOC being paid by the minute? They wish. TV and sponsorship revenue is going to nosedive in 2026 and 27 when the current deals expire

Closing ceremonies are always a bit crap and that was no exception.
Good Olympics though. Certainly the best since 2012 (poor Tokyo didn't get a fair chance).
Not a great Games for GB but by no means a bad one, so long as it's not the start of a downward trend. Gotta keep the funding up.
Pleased for France that they got to have the full experience like we enjoyed and had plenty of home success.
Think my favourite moment of the games was Pidcock's comeback. Though Marchand winning two goals in one session is something I never thought I'd see. Magnifique.

So weird the French would use a song that "borrowed" the music from a French song and then sing it, in English.

Not sure LA 2028 will be quite as memorable as LA 1984.

Shame the breaking was one and done. That really caught everyone’s attention. The girl liked it so much she’s spent the last few days trying to find Japans breaking uniform online but nowhere seems to sell it.

Not a great Games for GB but by no means a bad one, so long as it's not the start of a downward trend. Gotta keep the funding up. This Olympics had an astounding number of upsets for Team GB. So many world champions going into the finals just fell at the last metaphorical hurdle, it was quite hard to watch it happened with such frequency. But that's the Olympics for you, world championships don't always convert into Olympic golds. I'm hoping LA will have a few more golds for us, but USA are going to be absolutely hoovering up so many golds there probably won't be that many the rest of the world can win.

It definitely impacted my enjoyment a bit. The standout memories of previous Games are those winning moments and then the immediate emotional interview with the athlete whose dreams have come true. Silver and Bronze medals are just not the same (unless the athlete genuinely didn't expect to medal at all).
You still get those moments occasionally with non GB winners but obviously if they don't speak English or just don't fancy talking to our media, we miss them.
Externally I get that the Team GB chiefs have to talk up the success and secure more funding but I hope privately they recognise that there was a greater than previous level of underperformance.

Assassin’s Creed: Hellenic, confirmed! They did that about six years ago (Christ, has it really been six years since Odyssey?) Now if you're thinking "AC: 1821 Revolution" or something, I'd be down for that...

Caught up with most of the closing ceremony... though fast forwarding through the long boring bits. Not heard of Phoenix, but they seemed ok-ish. I assume they're french? Was happy to see Kavinsky, though I thought it was funny at the end when they said he was from Belgium . Air is a weird choice for a big sporting ceremony, what with their genre being fall-asleep-gently.

Phoenix were great in the mid-late 2000s. Not so much nowadays.
It's Never Been Like That and Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix are great indie/pop-rock albums.
