It sounded to me like it was the broadcast switching between a direct feed and the live audio from the stadium creating echo and horrible clashing bits when it switched to stadium sound. Is there a mic live somewhere that shouldn't be? Yeah, they have a clean, direct feed and one from the stadium mics when they want the crowd noise or some fireworks but someone in the booth keeps switching wildly between them. |

The good to boring ratio has been poor at both the ceremonies. I know the boring bits are somewhat due to protocol and logistics but I feel like other host countries have done better jobs of hiding them. Had to sit through an awful lot of guff to get to the good bits.

I think the audio issues are related to feedback on the commentary mics. So BBCs fault. Jarringly went back to the stadium audio at the end of the RHCPs for Hazel to make a pointless interjection.
