Khelif's next opponent, whom she's due to fight today, has already come out to say that her involvement in women's boxing is unfair: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/articles/cnd0drjr4jdoSeems a tad cynical to me. Lose, even fairly and squarely, and you've got a ready-made excuse to hand (plus you get to become a temporary darling of the "gender critical" crowd, until they move on to the next bandwagon); win, and you can either clam up or tout the fact that you were good enough to beat a so-called man. |

I can see there's a very difficult conversation about trans athletes but she is not trans. She may be DSD but imo that's entirely different and just part of her make up. DSD athletes may gain an advantage but that's not their fault - how is it different to Thorpe having massive feet, or basketball players being massive or any other physical advantage?

Sharon Davies has form on a number of levels. She's lucky she has such a weak public profile given the treatment Lineker has received for not 'sticking to football' and he's been an advocate for kindness and progressiveness not hate. Something tells me that the crowd that say Lineker should stay out of politics will weirdly have no issues with interventions from Davies. |

I don’t think it is- all athletes are there, and able to excel at the sports they’re in, because they’ve won the genetic lottery. As the saying goes- if you want to be good at sport then choose your parents wisely. It’s important to note (and completely missed by the terfs) that she’s been beaten about 9 times, including by a British boxer actually, so hardly some unassailable brick shithouse. She broke the woman’s nose, it fucking hurts and so she quit, then people pinned the reason on her chromosomes.
I do think there’s a conversation to be had around non-cis athletes in sports where you’re actively trying to hurt the opponent, but we’re never going to have it with the Rowling’s of the world screaming from the sidelines and, as said, sport is self selecting and full of people that are there because of one physical advantage or another anyway. Should Biles be banned because she’s the height of an 8 year old and therefore spinning is easier?

The issue I have is that I believe the IBA have never actually released the results that confirm this, nor the testing behind it, also a test that was done AFTER she beat a Russian boxer to reach the last 16. The same IBA that was suspended in 2019 by the IOC for severe irregularities in many areas. They basically said "trust me bro". |
