I don't miss e3 tbh, summergamesfest is fine for me. Couple of press conferences that aren't overly long and that's all I need really.

I’m vaguely interested in Fable but the consensus seems to be it’s not going well. Would also like some State of Decay 3 news, or maybe an interesting (free?) add-on for Forza Motorsport

Heh, I think Jeff Gerstmann in his latest podcast mentioned Fable along with Perfect Dark as being “stuck” with not much to show - so perhaps not a consensus, but I trust him not to have plucked it from thin air.

I am not particularly enthusiastic about any upcoming events or releases. However, I must admit that a surprise announcement regarding the launch date of State of Decay 3 would certainly capture my attention and interest. On the other hand, the fantasy-themed reskinned version of Outer Worlds did not impress me when I last saw it.

That's weird, because after the latest round of "lol Perfect Dark is fucked" rumours I saw a couple of guys (think Jeff Grubb and Jez Corden?) say that both that and Fable were doing okay. They're pretty much the only upcoming Xbox games in genuinely very excited about* so I hope we get some concrete information, at least about Fable. If it's coming in '25 then I think we're due a gameplay trailer. *I'm a little bit worried about PD, not because I don't think it'll be good necessarily, but because I'm not sure anyone is interested in making a game that feels enough like what I love about PD. Kinda like how, when almost everyone talks about the Knights of the Old Republic remake, they all say "of course the combat will be real-time now" when it was the pause-based combat that I loved about the original. |

I think a pro is more likely than handheld.
If that's coming it will be apart of the next gen reveal they said would be talked about at the end of the year.

I don't think there's going to be a "Pro" at all. We'll get an all-digital version, we'll get bigger SSDs, and that's it. They were pretty adamant at the start of the gen, and I think they'll stick to their guns.
I can absolutely see them making a handheld, though, but I also wonder whether it'll be effectively the Series S of the next generation.

As someone who keeps teetering on the brink of ordering a Steam Deck, this rumoured Xbox Handheld and the now long belated Switch 2 are not helping my decisiveness at all.

I'd just grab the Steam Deck OLED now and stick greenlight on it. I'll probably eat my words and end up buying one, but I just don't see the point of what will inevitably be a massively gimped handheld for a single console ecosystem in this day and age when you can just stream stuff.
