Bubbles just means less chocolate. Isn't honeycomb also mostly comprised of bubbles? Think that's by necessity though, not design.

Always rated custard creams over bourbon. The chocolate biscuit on a bourbon is just a bit meh.

I'm not a fan of Mars but the ice cream was always great. As Lilt was mentioned earlier I can almost remember the taste of a can of Lilt it almost had a different taste to the bottle one before they shelved the product.
My go to as a kid was Drifter or a Secret with a packet of T-Bone Steak Roysters. I'm amazed that I wasn't a fat ass kid.

Mars is a strange one - used to love them as a youngster. Back then they were the size of station wagons and had everything a growing child needed - thick chocolate, loads of caramel, and whatever the hell that brown stuff was. Going into secondary school I'd be following the medical advice they gave on the ads and have a Mars a day.
But at some point, Mars just became a bit tired, uninspiring and actually quite sickly. Did it change or did I?

I feel lesser ingredients have been used as while it still tastes sickly sweet it's a stodge to eat. A Mars a day helps you work rest and play, my arse it does.

I always used to come down on the Galaxy side of the Galaxy vs. Dairy Milk debate, back in the day.
Haven't had a Galaxy bar in forever, though, so I don't know which side I'd pick now - something to remedy with this week's grocery shopping, methinks.

I find galaxy a bit weird. Not bad but it does have a distinct taste and I probably prefer other chocolates

Galaxy Caramel > Cadbury Caramel. (I recently had the latter in egg form, and found it to be pretty revolting.)
Maverick was like the anti-Wispa - from pure chocolate to 'a bit of chocolate, with loads of other things'. Kind of Nestle's answer to Fuse?

Anyone ever tried Tony's chocolate?
See it more and more nowadays but have no idea how it compares to Cadbury, Galaxy and the like.

"Good, but too expensive" is how my brother described it. (I haven't personally had the pleasure.)
I'm partial to Ritter Sport and Milka - shame they're not all that commonplace over here.

A lot of people seem to like Milka, I found it very bland. Still ate a tonne of it working on one of their adverts (for... erm... research)

There's a lot of Milka up in Andorra with so many god damn varieties and there's way more european brands that I'd never heard of before I moved. They're alright if you want a better dark chocolate but I just like Cadburys milk chocolate more because that's what I grew up with although that could be the Birmingham bias coming out there.

You can usually find the regular Milka, plus two or three versions of Ritter Sport, if you shop about a bit.
Regular Milka is great, but the Ritter Sport products I can obtain aren't ones I'd ever choose to have - hazelnuts, marzipan, and salted caramel. (I like all three of those things by themselves, but I prefer to let chocolate be chocolate!)

Re: Tony’s. It’s a chocolate that punishes anyone attempting to bite it directly by breaking their teeth. Like a Yorkie moulded on a concrete slab.
Interestingly, it’s an ethical chocolate company that is open about how they can’t guarantee that the chocolate is 100% slave and child labour free, and nor can any chocolate company - purely because it’s so endemic in the supply chain. Last Week Tonight did a feature about it a while back.

Ooh Yorkie. I like a good Yorkie, it's one of the rare Nestle chocolates I actually do enjoy.

Hazlenut Ritter sport is great. Morrisons have a range of them here. I may need to buy some soon after thinking about them.

Anyone ever tried Tony's chocolate? See it more and more nowadays but have no idea how it compares to Cadbury, Galaxy and the like. It is the fucking best. They have loads of flavours now, but the Salted Caramel is top tier, as is the toffee pretzel bar. They also do a few bars that are their versions of Twix, Kit-Kat etc - they are also exceptional. They're also paying their farmers a decent wage and doing what they can to stop child labour/slavery, so I'll gladly pay those higher prices for fucking good chocolate and a company trying to do some good. foodispower.org/human-labor-slavery/slavery-chocolate/

A big '+1' on the Yorkie front from me.
I never got into nutty chocolate. I like nuts (and raisins, and mint, and caramel, etc.), but put 'em in chocolate and they just sort of get in the way.
That said, Terry's Chocolate Orange is a welcome change of pace once in a while. Maybe it's because they managed to impart the flavour without putting bits of *stuff* into the chocolate.

I'm afraid to mention Toblerones, for obvious reasons, but... yeah, I like a Toblerone once in a while.
Probably the only example of the white chocolate version being the best of the bunch (although in fairness, most bars don't have white versions to begin with, now that I think about it).

I bought a Toblerone last week. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Made sure it didn't have "I Love You" on it. I didn't want to scare myself away.

How have we got to page two of this thread without any mention of a Cadburys Boost bar?
I've not had one in awhile but I want one now. One of my favourites along with a Wispa Gold bar.

I like an OG Toblerone, but white chocolate ones are too sweet.

I still miss the small yet perfectly formed hit of a Cabana bar.
Nutty bars were also a favourite.
I understand those make me something of an outlier.

Is that the one with glucose in it?
I seem to remember them being pretty good, albeit in a, "I'm closer to having diabetes than I was five minutes ago" sort of way.
