I think the UK reboot benefitted massively from being on BBC on saturday nights though. It made it into something big enough that enough people were watching that you could talk about it.
As the dozens of attempted reboots in that article imply, it simply popping up on a minor channel / on amazon is unlikely to generate enough water-cooler talk to get it to break out. Amazon is big, but on-demand streaming inherently means people will be watching it at different times.
