I spent hours on this thing Then eventually took it apart to figure out how it worked. It was pretty smart/simple design, just a rotating track that projected onto the screen via a backlight. I’ll never forget the noise it made, kind of a mechanical bzzzt every time you fired. I had the Racing Turbo: Reminds me of the Tomytronic 3D games - I swear the 3D Shark Attack game seemed to be on every advert break for years. Played it at a mate's house and it was shite. And speaking of shite that was advertised all the time:

Oh man, I had one of those Tomytronic 3D games. Tanks IIRC.
It was shit even by my standards back then, but it was also somehow the shit at the same time.

Ring Raiders, I loved those things. Fighter planes on transparent plastic sticks that attached to a ring you wore on your fingers to fly them through the air. I thought "9 pages and no Ring Raiders jokes yet ?", so I guess everyone missed your comment, used to get my aunt to buy them in Poundstrechers every weekend. And that got me thinking about the other military toys I had, little diecast tanks hiding in/on bigger crazy vehicles. It's taken me 20mins to narrow down google, but Kenner MegaForce was Command and Conquer levels of wtf before it was a thing.

I can't buy walnut whips anymore after my partner commented how my cock looked like one once. It was a cold day! You've put me off them now too, thanks.

I had that Skull Squadron set!! Ring Raiders were ace.
And yes, I was very surprised at the lack of ring raider jokes (I had to triple check I had remembered the name correctly).

Think my fave was the giant tortise shell tank. What precious secret required a behemoth of armour ? One piddly helipad with a helicopter. Shout out to the old forum too, for helping me find Robo Story on YT a few years ago, based on the description of "French, girl MC, inverse whiny Darth Vader and stormtroopers who bent over, flip up pez heads shooting lasers out of their necks". m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DydH5U9vMYGQ

Between these, Crossbows and Catapults and Lego Pirate cannons it's a fucking miracle we (I assume) have two working eyes

Mega Force! I’d never have been able to put a name to it but I had those tiny planes and the camo tanks. They were great.
I think they were much later but I’ve I picked up a load of brand tie-in Micro Machines at some point as well: Babylon 5, Star Wars, Aliens, Predator… maybe Star Trek too.
Anything tiny and collectable and you had me.

I grabbed a load of Bucky O'Hare toys off eBay few years ago. Currently collecting a selection of the 90's buff Star Wars figures which I remember seeing in Woolies.

I some how had a massive set of them, I think I had everything in that photo. The big green one which had massive swinging scoops. There was a big cream one that launched a space rocket ship. They were insanely well made and I just took them for granted.

I had a Megaforce thing, a refuelling truck for VTOLs with a landing pad. The bodies were all die cast and really detailed. Gonna do a couple of board games for my next couple of contributions. Firstly, KEY TO THE KINGDOM! The box art: The sumptuously ear-wormy TV ad: youtu.be/3V_EmG0jsuY?si=RW_rbPfIA8_kyOo5And a great run down, albeit with the inferior US box art: youtu.be/tIUpew7vcfk?si=tCi5UpwZSDFzVOyLThis thing was amazing. The art - amazing. The sculpts on the minis and counters - decent. The creature/trap/treasure cards - perfect - right up there with the fantasy Top Trumps I remember (need to seek that out). The game board was amazing, it had actual inserts for bridge sections (which could collapse) and it was gatefold with reversible sections when you landed in the whirlpools. To this day, I’ve never seen such imagination in one boxed game.

While being read the rules Dad wouldn’t stop singing “KEY TO THE KINGDOM!” as per the advert. Think it got played twice.

Which one? I think there were like 6 of them in the end. I never finished the one I had (the first one).
Edit - OK. I over-exaggerated. There were 5.

Loving this thread folks, so many good memories. Does anyone remember Multimacs? I had loads of them as a kid and loved them, but don't think they were too popular.

crash test dummies! I had the car that crumpled and had an airbag that popped on impact. The dummies also blew apart too.
