Finally we're getting to a bunch of stuff I don't recognize and didn't have!
(new page edit: MegaForce, Key to the Kingdom, Cosmic Fusion, Crash Test Dummies)
I vaguely remember Ring Raiders though.
As a kid I'd get dragged to Trago Mills for shopping about once a month, and I'd always find some weird cheap obscure toy made of cheap plastic. I feel like Ring Raiders was one of those.

I had the Racing Turbo: I think I spent hours playing with this. I would love to think it's still in my mum's loft somewhere but it was probably thrown away. Would be great to be able to give my old toys like this to my kids when they're old enough. Just given the boy some of my old Brio that mum brought over and he loves it.

I coveted a Brio train set as a kid. Never got one.
Even now it’s one toy I wouldn’t mind if the kids, both too old for it now, got in to as an excuse to buy loads of it

We had a brio set that I played with for a fair few years. They were satisfyingly well made so I spent a good chunk of time slotting them together.
My dad also had a hornby train set and was nearly finished making a complete set with all the landscape pieces up in the loft.
Given just how many of these toys I remember us having I'm starting to think I was pretty spoilt. All I usually remember is how poor we were after he died, but up until then we must have been pretty well off. Or my dad wracked up loads of debt.

It's weird to think of how much I played with action figures and simple games like Tomytronic. It's almost impossible to get my kids interested in action figures these days, and even if they do get interested and hyped about some, they'll play with them for a few days and then never touch them again. Youtube and video games on the other hand.. If I gave them the Racing Turbo they'd have fun with it for 30 mins and then never turn it on again. I coveted a Brio train set as a kid. Never got one. Even now it’s one toy I wouldn’t mind if the kids, both too old for it now, got in to as an excuse to buy loads of it We're just giving away ours as the kids are too old. It's ok, but rather over-priced if you ask me. (Ikea do rip-off tracks for 1/4 the price, though their trains are rubbish)

Always fun diving into Argos Autumn/Winter catalogues from the early 90s if you need a healthy portion of member-berries, here's 91/92: archive.org/details/argos-autumn-winter-1991-1992/page/n335/mode/2up?view=theaterI had that Tomy tabletop football game, used to take it into primary school on the last day of school every year when the teachers used to largely let us do whatever we wanted. Amazingly I don't think I ever lost one of the little balls!

Very early memory, but had a couple of these. If you watched the classic saturday morning cartoon Dungeons and Dragons and wanted toys based oin the series, this is what you got. I mean, they're OK... but what you really wanted was Hank the Ranger vs Venger, Force of Evil...

And apologies if it's already come up, but have we covered space attack? An amazing game that my mum would periodically hide because it was so damned noisy.

Did anyone have the Micro Machines toolbox? YES! The kids both play with it when we visit my mum's. I got it for Christmas one year. Lovely stuff. I confess to having secured the lamborghini and porsche back at my house.

I remember looking at the littlewoods catalogue thinking 'wow, I can get that item for 48 pence a week' not knowing it would cost twice as much.

I confess to having secured the lamborghini and porsche back at my house. I had a tonne of hand-me-downs from my brother, and that was one of them. Think I had a countach, and a 944. There's one I really loved, which was a pearlescent, but can't remember the make. I think I added a bunch of army ones, specifically this. Absolutely loved this. Actually that must have been around the time I was obsessed with Desert Strike on the Mega Drive haha.

Same here with Littlewoods, use to go through the pages when staying at my grans and we both had to bagsie an item... ok, I admit it, it was the jewellery section, I was a bit of a magpie for shinnies. Think this Argos archive has been posted before, may have been from the EG days, dunno… retromash.com/argos/I swear, nothing in this world, nothing, smelled as good as a fresh Argos catalogue. Not even a Screwfix catalogue!? ;-)

I was only listening to this the other day, as I was seeing if the original version was on Amazon Music. It wasn't but this spot on cover by GlitterWolf was and it's fantastic - www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLNdYeNy1oM

Pole Position was awesome. My favourite ‘action’ cartoons would be; 1. Bucky O’Hare - let’s croak us some toads! Everything had an awesome design and it really felt quite epic. 2. Jase and the Wheeled Warriors - again, the designs of all the vehicles (were these designed to sell toys?) really caught the imagination. 3. Pole Position - you WANTED the cars. But specifically the Lotus/Delorean/Lambhorghini looking one. This was pure escapism. 4. Pirates of Dark Water - really quite sinister with the titular dark water and the ship design was soooo detailed and grim-cool. The girls in class liked the monkey bird. Got loads of TV stuff I’ll save for other times. Jase and the Wheeled Warriors was pure 80's nagging power to buy the cars in Toy and Hobby when it was Xmas or your birthday. The cartoons that were on in the early mornings pre 9am were just fantastic. Jase and Galaxy High were on most Sunday mornings on Channel 4, after Trans World Sport had been on.

Little Coca-Cola footballs at my school. Where did people get them from? They were all over the place for Italia 90 World Cup.

The Argos catalogue is only about the size of a magazine these days but at my son’s school they’d been using them to cut up and make collages (he’s in reception). A few weeks before Christmas when I picked him up his bookbag seemed really full so I assumed it was another toilet roll and yoghurt pot model construction. When we got home and opened it up it turned out that during collage time he’d been tearing out and hiding the toy pages in his drawer and this was him bringing back all the pictures he wanted to show Santa. There were hundreds of them all torn, cut and scrumpled up together. He was very excited to show us and tell us about the toys too.

My wife is still dreading the day my parents decide to hand over my Kerrang back issues. 1996-1998 occasional issues 1998-2002 or 03 complete collection Like sure I could just follow www.instagram.com/moshermags but these are my Kerrang from school and uni. There's a guy on TikTok reviewing old Kerrangs from 98 to 2008 and it was a good reminder that some things are best left in the past. Yes, you know that means Lostprophets. They were bloody everywhere.

If we're going the toys route then I had one of these, not available that widely (UK and France only IIRC) and seeing a boxed one on sale for a ridiculous amount of money at Star Wars Celebration 2016 made me wish I knew where it went. Mint ones, which are extremely rare, are worth thousands.
Looking back (over my shoulder....), we were lucky as fuck as kids. The family over the road, their boys were like 16 or so when we were 6 so their mum knocked on our door and asked us if we wanted all their Star Wars stuff they weren't playing with anymore. None of them were boxes, just well played with but still had accessories and all limbs. My dad couldn't believe his luck and we played with those toys for bloody years. The same family also came up trumps with a load of 1970/80's Space Lego as well.

Sorry for the thread bumps! Here's my addition, I had Battleships as a electronic game:- The screen in the middle would launch and then declare of it was a hit or miss. Watching the recent Squid Game series with real people and no deaths reminded me of this when they were playing it and standing on the boats awaiting their fate.
