I do decimals for DLC if played the original the same year, but if the DLC is a new year it gets its own number.... After last year's poor performance it doesn't help me Currently trying to polish off God of War Ragnarok hefore Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, think that timescale will fail...

01. 05/01 - Dave the Diver (PC) - 8/10 02. 23/01 - Alan Wake 2 (Xbox) - 8/10 03. 24/01 - Frog Detective 1 (Xbox) - 5/10 04. 25/01 - Frog Detective 2 (Xbox) - 6/10
Largely more of the same gameplay wise but with a couple of new features and I found this one more amusing generally.

I really liked this one, and it's very apparent the series went from a college project to something a bit more fully fledged. Similar basis gameplay but great music and characters in this one.

01. 06/01 - American Arcadia (PC) - 8/10 02. 07/01 - Warhammer 40K: Boltgun (PC) - 9/10 03. 13/01 - Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight (Saturn) - 7/10 04. 25/01 - Tron 2.0 (PC) - 8/10
Disney shooter taking place in the final days of the Web 1.0 era. About as weird as it sounds.
I've also retroactively raised the score for Boltgun to a 9, as I think it deserves it.

#1 - 12/01 - Resident Evil 4 (PS5) #2 - 16/01 - Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Switch) #3 - 19/01 - Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS5) #4 - 29/01 - Another Code: Two Memories (Switch)
Nice enough game, a lot shorter than I thought it would be at around 6 hours.
Game seems to go straight into the sequel so might smash that out, although also got so many games on the Switch backlog that might try something else in between.

Decent game and a good change from the first given it's now a roguelite.
Docked a point as sorely missing a checkpoint before the final, tough bit meaning there's a chunk to replay to get there again. Half point regained due to having accessibility options meaning you can get through it.

01. 02.01. Gris (PC, 5 hours) 02. 04.01. Boltgun (PC, 13+ hours) 03. 29.01. Fallout 4 (PC, 85+ hours) Edit: 04. 30.01. 0_abyssalSomewhere (PC, 30 minutes)
Hadn't thought I would spend as much time on it. Bethesda open world games usually run out of steam for me much faster. Now for something shorter.

1:Mafia II definitive ed: (ps5/ps+) beat on 04/01/24 9/10 2:New Tales from the Borderlands: (Xbox) beat on 16/01/24. 4/10 3:Deliver us the Moon: (ps5/ps+) beat on 18/01/24. 8/10
4:Mass Effect Andromeda (xbox) beat on 31/01/24. 7.5/10
After last playing years (maybe 40%in) ago I decided to actually play and complete it towards the end of last year. Glad I did, lots to like, we all know it is not the same level of brilliance of the trilogy but I still found it a fun game and enjoyed the main story. I still have loads of loyalty and side missions to start, so doubt I am done yet. Some of the planets and monsters looked really great. Gunplay was good, traversal improved. The one area I thought let it down was the "dumbing down" of how much you could organise and control your two ai buddies. I hope we get more control (again) when ME4, or I suppose it will be ME5 comes out.
Moving forward I am on chapter 17/18 of FF7 Remake, so would hope to have that completed around the weekend.

01. South Park: The Fractured But Whole (Series X) 4/5 02. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (Switch) 5/5
A fantastic metroidvania that I personally feel is more than worth the initial asking price. Slick, quick and it even has multiple difficulty modifications for those who wish to adjust the balance.
Not sure where to go from here. Frog Detective?!

I was torn between breaking these up as 3 games or keeping them as the single collection they are. They’re great games, all 3 of them, but as deez said, they’re each 30 minute experiences. Narratively they all continue on from the previous game, so it all feels like 1 whole game, rather than the 3 games they were distributed as originally.

I agree, it's pretty surprising that there was years between the games being released given the way they hang together to the satisfying conclusion. You do however make me feel like I've cheated!

03/01/24 Super Mario RPG Switch (Physical) 7.0 18/01/24 Sayonara Wild Hearts Steam Deck (Steam) 7.0 20/01/24 Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition XSX (GP) 7.5 24/01/24 Resident Evil 2 remake XSX (GP) 9.0 (Claire A/Leon B) 26/01/24 Resident Evil 3 remake XSX 8.0 (2x) 29/01/24 A Short Hike XSX (GP) 6.0 06/02/24 Brotato XSX (GP) 8.0
I'm counting Brotato as complete as I've only got the individual character run completion achievements left to clear, which I'll probably still chip away at. Fun little single stick Survivorslike (or whatever we're calling them), but bastard hard in comparison as it doesn't have the permanent upgrades of VS. No way in hell I'd ever be capable of completing a danger 5 run on the default difficulty settings!
Are we counting multiple playthroughs of the same game? I went back and ploughed through RE3 again straight after finishing it.

deez You definitely haven’t cheated! You are technically right. They are 3 games bundled into one. I think I have just chosen to shrink them down into one based on the overall length. It took 5x longer for me to finish that Powerwash DLC that I scrubbed off my list, so that might have something to do with it too. Either way, you’re definitely not cheating. I hope to go back to and finish both Advance Wars games on Switch this year, but I’ll be separating those, even though they are part of the same package. Those are 20 hours each and I'll not be able to play them back to back either.

Pleased to finally play through this after I put down the original. Atmospheric, decent gameplay and a pretty engaging story.

Rolled credits and great to see my best mate there as composer for the heavy songs, what a talent.
Excellent co-op shooter with a laugh out loud script, lovely stuff. Have added as completed due to completing the main story but think I'll be playing this for a long, long time.
Otherwise I'm back on Persona 3 Reload when playing single player, remake of one of my all time favourites games and it does not disappoint.

Anime Marathon, with extra gore which looks super weird. Is it even possible to make an intestine fly away without a single drop of blood? Apparently, it is.

I’m working away from home for the best part of a week and decided this would be the game to play. Something familiar, but with a lot still to achieve. I’ve managed to complete 3 runs out of 5 this week already, as I get back into the swing of things, but I’m exploring some of the alternative paths more thoroughly, grinding out cells to increase item quality and such. Either way, I’ll likely beat it another 3 times before the week is out, so it’ll certainly be deserving of being on this list.

The first 10 of 2024. After the disappointment of abandoning FF7 remake at the last chapter! (I just could not be bothered) I am back on track with the completion of the sublime and epic GOT. I enjoyed and enjoy everything in this game be it story, characters (Jin and Yuna are great) world, soundtrack etc. The cut scene and atmosphere leading into the final showdown is a thing of beauty, everything is perfect with it. Clocked 48 hours so far, which is 7 less than I spent on the ps4 version back when that released, but I have lots still to do and of course the story content dlc, so tens of hours to still enjoy. Once again PlayStation "nail" a sp campaign.
My other "main" campaign game at the mo is RE4 remake, but I only started that yesterday.

Charming little adventure game on Gamepass. You play as Ravenlok...
From Xbox: Ravenlok's life takes a turn for the unexpected when she stumbles through a magical mirror into a troubled kingdom. You will Explore fantastical realms, meet mad characters and defeat dark monsters to end the Caterpillar Queen’s reign of terror. Your destiny awaits in an action-packed, coming of age adventure.
From me. Great little game with loads of charm and great graphical style. It is very easy and laid back. Probably 8 hours game time, but I played it over several sessions.
Gamepass/PS+ 4/6
