Just bought a bottle of this to kick off a week on a lodge. Anyone tried it yet? I'm intrigued.

Is that wine with coffee added to it?
That could bring on the heaviest hangover I could think of.

Yup. Combining my two favourite things. I can't see any downside.

One shot worth of caffeine through a whole bottle of wine isn't going to do much... unless you're getting through multiple bottles, in which case the caffeine's the least of your worries

Wine and caffeine?
The description gives me buckfast vibes.

19 crimes is ok, but i don't drink much red wine these days. I seem to have gone off it.
I tend to prefer white, or even rosé these days iver a red if it's wine.
Idk why, i used to far prefer a red.

Yeah, I've had the straight up 19 Crimes. Was quite nice. I really need to cut back on the red as it gives me a proper kicking but I just love it. Makes food taste so much better.

I should probably avoid this thread, as I drink way more than is good for me TBH. I spent Saturday afternoon in my local sat in the sun and drinking Augustiner Helles. I think that may be the nicest lager I've ever tasted. I'm supposed to have a night off tonight, but I'm child-free, so the backlog and a few cold ones is calling....

I'm not really much of a drinker to be honest. Is it okay if I come in and quietly tut to myself while gently shaking my head and reading your posts in judgement?

I've officially passed my peak I think. I feel like white dog shit at work today after being out last night. Only had about 5 or 6 pints as well. I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I've had more than a glass of wine in the last 2 or so years because I'm so fucking miserable the next day. Help me.

I've actually cut down my drinking slightly over the last year, mainly because of the music band where I have to be coherent and sober enough to play properly. I still have a couple, but that's about it. And that's very low for me, as my tolerance is built up over years of abuse to take about 7-8. And that's twice a week we practice. And that's made me kinda get a bit bored of it when I do go out and go for it. I get to about pint 5 and I've had my fill then and want to go home and chill.

I mean, I don't go out that often, but I love a beer when I'm gaming, even though around six in I realise I can't play for shit if it's anything that demands more than basic attention.

To be honest, it's only the band that's done it - if I didn't have something to focus on, I'd probably just be in the pub doing the 7-8 routine again. I tend to go out most nights after work to the only pub in this village thats about 2-3 minutes walk - It's a nice leafy, quiet village, plus I live on my own, so after 8 hours looking at a laptop, not speaking to hardly anyone, I need to get out anyway. I do the standard "after work" pints earlier on, then go home a few hours later. I can't remember the last time I was at a pub for last orders. Yeah, I like to have a few when gaming / watching something, and yeah, if it's Botw or something, that's fine, but if it's anything complicated, then yeah, sod that

I've defo gone into habitual, not an alcoholic stage. By coincidence one of my closest friends has just told me he is an alcoholic and in the first stages of recovery.
Cant say I thought it was that bad but he's hid it well.
Was the kick I needed just to kerb the drinking and to be honest I feel much better even after a few days.

That's what I need to do - I drink every day, and have done for years. I don't get staggeringly drunk, but I could definitely benefit from a rest every so often. It's the first few fitful days of sleep that I don't look forward to.

However if my wife was like "let's not have any booze tonight" or if I had work/ had to drive the kids somewhere I would never touch the stuff. So I don't believe that does make you an alcoholic. Someone with a bad habit.

Will be interesting to see how my friend gets on with his recovery. The cynic in me thinks he is habitual and maybe wanting a "status" I dunno. Maybe I'm being a cunt.

I had 4 days off the booze last week, felt absolutely brilliant, superhuman. So of course I had a few too many on Friday and then spent the rest of the weekend regretting it. Not enough to not have a couple on Sat and Sunday but enough that it was only a couple. Rinse and repeat.

I'm definitely creeping up on the old booze-o-meter. Despite the fact I'm trying to run every day, it seems like I also want to drink every night. The two don't exactly go hand in hand. Only had 2-3 days off the booze in the last 3 weeks or so. I'm not exactly caning it every night but even the small nights are still a very generous home measure of malt. I could do with knocking it on the head for a while but the trouble is I'm not sure I actually want to yet.

Actually, fucking hell, I've got no-one nagging me to stop! Brilliant!

I mean you can enjoy doing something without it being too negative?
Work bloody hard, personally and for work. Couple of drinks (more than that) in the night sounds fair enough as long as its not having a detrimental effect. It's not lost on me that this is exactly what an alcoholic would say.
