I caved in yesterday at the last moment and ordered it. Normally I only like the 3D installments, but the "best 2D mario since World" won me over .
So yeah, can't wait to get into this 😁

Mine turned up yesterday (thanks, ShopTo!) and I played a bit last night. The hype is justified. The ghosts of other players running around reminds me of Dark Souls a bit, or Journey?

I had a voucher I was going to use for Pikmin 4 once me and the little one finished kirby but I treated myself to this after the positive reception. Very much a palette cleanser alongside Cyberpunk! Only done the first 4 or 5 stages but they're all been good if fairly easy (that's fine, the challenge is in collecting the seeds and coins which is just about perfectly judged).
It's very good so far. The badges are lovely new twist, Nintendo you inventive bastards.

I ended up running through one of the stages with a random Japanese player, we revived each other at least once and completed the level at the same time for the bonus hearts. Smiley face emojis and lots of jumping at the end 🙂 |

For anyone going digital and looking for a deal, it's currently £33 (or thereabouts) on Amazon Japan for a code: www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/B0C89BS2LV/ref=dsvrt_myd_asin_block?th=1To buy on Amazon JP, you can use your normal card and UK address for payment, but you'll also need to have a random Japan post address in your account for it to let you buy the code. After that, you'll need to change your Nintendo account region to JP (or just set up a new Nintendo account with JP as the region). Then once you've redeemed the code (took about an hour or so for my Amazon order to be confirmed and code sent), you can change the region back to UK, job done  |

Did that for Splatoon 3 and it was a bit of a faff but still cheaper than buying physical.
I'm torn between nabbing this and leaving something for my totally blank crimbo list.

You know what this reminds me of.. Kirby and the forgotten land. Very different games of course but the "feel" is the same. Not too tough, fun power ups and badge abilities, snack sized challenges breaking up the action and it's all fairly frictionless and super fun to hop back in to levels to mop up stuff as a result. I loved Kirby and I'm loving this

Got some mopping up to do on Kirby, so that’ll keep me from buying this too soon. Also got a physical copy of Red Dead in the shopping basket for £35, so very tempted to nab that.
