Yeah KFC fries are just baaaad. It's the one place where you start eyeing up a bit of corn on the cob instead.

The was a German Doner Kebab branch near me. Tried it once - absolute grease fest. Never went back and apparently no one else did either, as it closed within six months of opening.

Five Guys do great chips. Shame that their burgers aren't any better than a Burger King/McyDs but are about double the price.

Why does Burger King never seem to do the Big King any more?
Life is so unfair.

My mate used to have half rice, half chips. Assumed it was a Welsh thing but no idea.

Used to live across the road from a gnarly Chinese takeaway, real dive. Staff used to just ring up a Chinese mixed meat curry and chips when I walked in. No shame

The lack of Gyros places in the UK upsets me. They should replace the kebab shops.

Yeah, I should have added outside of London as that has everything. When I lived in Brighton that had a great choice of different foods too.
Honkyville I live in now kicked off because the local pub started serving pizzas instead of "Proper British grub".

That's one thing I'd love a takeaway to do - Naples style pizza. Don't have anything like that in Yorkshire as far as I know unless you're eating in.

Loads of gyros places near me in Stockport.
Oldham, where I’m from, is all half n half too. I grew up thinking that was the way to eat rice.

Agree Mcdonalds limited edition burgers aew almost always awful. Especially if they use a special bun. Dry as old boots.
A fresh big mac or quarter pounder is decent but more than 5 mins sitting in the heated area and they decline rapidly.
Big Tasty however is great.

The ol’ double cheeseburger is still the best thing they do. Absolute bargain as a hangover prevention tool.

Double qtr pounder is my go to QFT. I quite like an apple pie afterwards too. Although they seem to have cooled them down from before, or at least when i remember eating them as a teen- what used to effectively have raised the infant apple puree inside to the temperature of the sun's surface, now is merely a bit hot.

I've only had it once to be fair, but I definitely found them nowhere near as good as something like GBK or Byron, even though they were about the same price. Of course, none of those compare to a good pub burger.

I always find the patty's in a pub burger way too thick. Usually more miss than hit for pubs.
