How do people order these convenient McDonald's breakfasts? I live 15 mins walk from a McDonald's but I wouldn't consider driving or waking there convenient. When I order online it's eye-wateringly expensive and usually arrives cold. I think if you're "waking" up at McDonalds, you have entirely different problems

I guess I just love Cereal, going out (without my Mrs. or without being on holiday) for breakfast would never even occur to me. I genuinely love starting the day with cereal or porridge. Anyway why am I shitting up this diarrhoea inducing thread with this boring non fast food talk? I was out with mates last Friday and we happened upon a new (to me) burger place called Bosh burger on the quays. It was absolutely perfect after 6 pints of Guinness. /Healthy Unless it was over the course of say, noon to into the evening, I genuinely couldn’t handle six pints of Guinness anymore. I’d be comatose and dying of inhaling my own sick. Good going. Combo of mates dispersing and Covid induced change of habits has basically removed my resistance. I was wondering how I'd fare but we ended up doing it in basically a 2 hour window. One of the lads (the guy who organised it and picked 6 specific "Good Guinness" pubs) couldn't finish the last pint. We moved onto lager thereafter. I think I had 2 more and was in bed before midnight. It was stupidly quick though

I don't buy bacon at home. If I get a pack of bacon I'm then basically stuck eating it for three consecutive days, otherwise it will go to waste, and I'm trying to not eat bacon everyday. The nearest butchers to me is halal, which is fine but it does mean I can't get two lone strips of bacon. Usually get breakfast on my weekend morning walks too, not always McDonald's but if my route takes me past it I might pop in. Other times it will be a bakery or whatever. McDonald's is cheaper than my greasy spoon. Do you not have a freezer? I'm the only one in my house who eats black pudding so obviously have a full thing of clonakilty isn't viable however, cutting it into three or four pieces and popping it in the freezer solves that problem.

Freezer space is very limited due to living in a shared house and the freezer being full. I essentially don't have a freezer, no.
Living in a shared house is why I really don't cook as much as I should, hate having other people's stuff around or being around people when I'm cooking. (Or when I'm not cooking tbh). My diet genuinely would be healthier if I had my own place.
Too be honest though I like having breakfast on my walks.

Other people are terrible particularly when it comes to food.

I couldn't be bothered making anything for dinner so just finished off a box of shreddies mixed with sugar puffs (or whatever they're called now)
Probably would've got more nutrition from the cardboard, but I'd do it all over again given a choice!

If I got to the point where I couldn't be that bothered to make something and didn't then order something instead, that I ate cereal for dinner, I think I'd have to end it.
Food is too good to be having cereal for dinner!

Cereal is sugary but it usually has fibre and iron and stuff so I don’t think it’s a useless food.
Crunchy nut cornflakes are my jam, but sometimes only a hot breakfast will do. The occasional time where we go abroad I will always put a few pounds on just from having a cooked breakfast every single day.

I really struggle to undrstand where McDonalds fits into a functioning healthy persons diet. It's not nice enough to be a "treat" and its too full of shit and unfulfilling to be the solution to an emergency hunger situation. What meal type does it occupy for people? As the OP, I think I can say with some conviction it’s for when you’re short on time and don’t like yourself very much.

@rummonkey Popping a Rustlers burger in the microwave would be that point for me. On the depressing food scale, cereal for dinner once in a blue moon is nowhere near that imo.

Ergh, forgot rustlers were a thing. I don't have a microwave. I'd have to pop it in the air fryer.
Guy I used to work with would have some bbq rib rustlers burger. Would smell and look like a sweaty flip flop.

Oh and taste like one too.
Honestly any microwaved ready meal is pretty depressing. Even the description mocks you. “Serves one”. Might as well say “Serves one sad divorcee”.

Waking there would be convenient for the breakfast though. I'd still love to know people's preferred method of obtaining their McDonald's filth. Drive? Walk? Delivery? Street dealer?

For the reasons I mentioned earlier I'd say 35-45 percent of my meals are microwaved ready meals. Some are better than others. Most are still a bit shit though.

A McDonalds is not a planned thing and I'm not paying for what is already something grim to be delivered luke warm and moist in its own sweat.
If we're having one, it's ordered on the app as OH gets blue light discount and I'll drive through and collect it (15 mins round trip).

Have a McDonalds that delivers within 15mins, only has ÂŁ10 for free delivery and does a 2 big mac and 2 medium fries deal for ÂŁ10. Its dangerous (like having a domino's up the road)

To be fair microwave meals are better than they used to be. Tesco paella isn’t bad. Still find you need to eat about three to feel remotely full though.
I think back in the university shared house days Findus Crispy Pancakes were a staple dinner. Took very little freezer space and didn’t usually get nicked by stoned housemates.

And pot noodles.

Word of warning; do not revisit Crispy Pancakes. They aren’t as good as you remember.

Tesco Steak Ragu is a very decent microwave meal. I haven’t seen it in a while but there was an Asda Hoi Sin duck stir fry that was great too. And you can get edible curry and rice and stuff. It’s not all bad.

Got a bit of catching up to do:
Dave’s double cheeseburger - Wendy’s
I don’t know if it’s because it was the lunch rush and I was stuck in a queue with a group of teenage foreign exchange students (I promise you - no one takes longer to decide what to eat at a touchscreen than they did), but this was a pretty disappointing experience. I remember Wendy’s being almost God tier but then bun was overly sweet and had the weird quirk of being cold on the top and warm underneath. Spicy nuggets were also undersized and unpleasantly chewy. Can’t fault the fries though. But for a burger you’re better off at Five Guys. 4/10
The McDonald’s 50th anniversary double Big Mac calamity
It’s a Big Mac, but with double the patties and what McDs reckon is bacon. Eat it and punish your toilet.
8/10

It's interesting that McDonalds US have been quoted as saying on the BBC that the average price of a Big Mac has increased by 21% since 2019, yet I watched this very interesting video recently stating the price of a Big Mac has in fact increased by 45% since 2020, and other items 70% or even 80%! Similar well above inflation price hikes in UK restaurants too.
