Same as virtually any company, three months at best. Were you alive and cognitive in 2008? They would actually last a little more. They have good cash reserves vs their creditors and another chunk in receivables. As most of the cost are people related (and google) I imagine it would be possible to weather the storm for a bit longer. Yeah... They could get down to skeleton crew if need be. And then get assistance from freelancers as and when. I'm surprised as to why we don't get more investigative work. Surely the staff can make better use of their time whilst on payroll, no?

Fair do's, I haven't looked at the accounts because I do that AFD anyway, but my overall point is valid, it's healthy. Not world shattering, but it's not going down the toilet soon. Unrelated point, can we have Muttley back as your avatar please? Ha, yeah I need to get round to sorting that out

That is a small business. Exactly... And a profit of half a million (pre-tax) is nothing. Mark Wahlberg can earn more than that for just a 12 second walk-on cameo. Turnover is not nothing, it's literally what pays for everything like wages, supplies and other gubbins that are more technically related your business. You guys have been watching too much dragons den. The company has clearly been growing, both in turnover and assets, year on year for the last decade. Wasn't the original point that they're a suffering business because people ad block their ads? To rebuff that claim their annual reports are mentioned, then linked to for anyone to read, but then the goalposts are moved to say they're not in the same ball-park as the Marky Mark and the Hollywood movie industry. It's just arguing for the sake of it at that point.

Lots of experts here Whether or not there was a profit last year and this year, it's really important to know the forecasts. They might anticipate major revenue streams drying up, or costs going up, or whatever. A company's finances might look fine until the day it suddenly isn't.

I'm with cubby. Different points are being conflated here imo. Adblockers don't seem to have that big an impact on revenues. And it strikes me that EG could push the boat out to attract better journos but choose not to - because ultimately they are now an events company.

ResetEra just sold for $4.6m. Guess now we know why user neilka was so eager to be the one to get this place up and running so quickly.
