You assume correctly. Thanks, I'll move to some combination of more filtered feeds. I need to get around to adding the Onward March RSS feed too. But then you'll miss out on articles like " New World: how to save your progress": An article about how to literally do nothing

With the pertinent info just under a few paragraphs that'll SEO their way into the search preview, just to really drive home the clickbait.

That's a shame it's so quiet. I feel bad for the people that went but also the exhibitors that turned up and are trying to make the best of it. Reminds me of a few print expos I've attended over the past few years, shadows of their former selves with just fuck all to do and see. Depressing.
I probably meant to post this in the EGX thread but whatever.
Could well end up being the opposite. People who went to queue for hours to play the next CoD might end up playing all the indie games as there’s literally nothing else to do. Wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being a great year for the few exhibitors that actually turned up.

Apparently EGX2021 was even shitter than we thought. #EGXrefund is now trending on twitter.
Theory: They closed the forum before EGX, because they feared all the ripped off attendees would have come on the forum raising a stink.

YouTube is £13 a month to remove ads which is a frankly absurd amount of money, but with the amount of YouTube we watch (via the xbox, no ads on pc obv.) if I earned enough that I didn't think it was an absurd amount I'd absolutely cough up. You know you remove youtube adds, on a family account, for less than £2 per month? With youtube music thrown in for free?

brokenkey Eh? Family plan is £18 per month. It might work out cheaper per person with 5 of you, but there's only two of us. Or am I missing something glaringly obvious?

Note the lack of blue carpet. I remember every year as it got shitter, the amount of carpet got less and less until now we have this, bare concrete. I've been told the Back 4 Blood machines weren't even connected for multiplayer. Even the shit they did have was lazily rushed together.

That does look very empty. I’m not sure corona is a reason either as I’ve been to things this year with lots of companies and people turning up.

Imagine paying for four days of that, plus hotels, fuel etc. This is almost mainstream news territory

I know that we're not fans of Rodger Reedpop here, but I look at those pictures and can only feel sad. This would be the worst time ever to be an events company.

Yeah, they really should have taken another year off, surely the brand damage they've done will outweigh what (if any) profits they've made on the event.

True but there doesn’t seem to have been much/any attempt to manage expectations which seems to be the galling thing. If you’ve only got 2hrs worth of content, tell people before they spend 300 odd quid on hotels for the entire weekend.

I've no ill will towards them but their general communication over everything lately seems to be absolutely piss poor for a business that is now customer facing not just with their events, but on the website as well.
Really, I feel like they should have used the closing of the forum almost as a dummy run for how they want to approach communication and liaison between business and 'customer'. It seems like everything is answered with "We're doing well anyway, so..." or *shrug*, "We meant to do it like that".
Need a proper, dedicated public relations person if you ask me, not just whoever's got the most free time in that moment.

Looks like most dance music events back at the millennium new year, people being over charged for very little.
The Nextfest on Steam the other weekend had more on offer.
