Just checked, yeah it's meant to happen then. I had no cut scene or anything. I just assumed she had lied about her age and she thinks we are an item she can drop her standards.

There isn't a cutscene, you just go over and talk to her yourself and go "hey what's with the hair?"...

Nope. I just rested right at the start of act 3 and then she had white hair. It indicates she's rejected Shar and switched to Selune. So, we can assume you rescued the Nightsong. If you didn't then I've no idea what is happening!!

I've warmed a bit more to the combat now I'm level 8. It finally feels like there are loads of attack options I have. Always felt super limited. Early combat felt like the best move was push to do fall damage or maybe shoot something off a ceiling. Now I have aoe spells and attacks that actually damage the enemy.
One battle right at the end of act 2 I had a nice combo going where I changed the floor to thorns and ice which really messed up the many many enemies attacking. Anything that made it throw hit guardian spirit or moon beam.
Still the very first act 3 fight every enemy seemed to be able to dash, jump and then do about 3 attacks. I think at level 8 it's only hell lady that can multi attack or me if I've transformed into something like owlbear. To help a bit I summon a spirit weapon, a woodland spirit, a hellspawn devil thing so then at least I have 7 characters to control per turn.

I've done quite a few "evil" things but at th big moments I'm being nice.

No, act 2 is the shadow-cursed lands. You can go there through either the mountain pass or the underdark (or do both), but both of those places are still in act 1. Ok thanks. So I guess I just hit level 7 and 70 hours still in Act 1 then. Seems like I'm going to be playing this for a long long time.

You get an additional attack at level 5 of a fighty class so 5 levels of (fighter, monk, ranger, paladin etc). Then a third for fighters around level 10. Which with action surge you can pump out double that.

And Thieves get an extra bonus action (offhand attack), Berserkers Frenzied Strike, Open Hand Monks get unarmed hits as bonus actions and Ki multi hits, Swords Bards have Slashing Flourish, etc. Basically any martial-focused character can make at least 3 melee attacks per turn in exchange for some resource around level 5-6, if you build for it.

I'm rocking one druid, one barbarian, one rogue and one paladin. The rogue, currently, seems really shit as he has some great spells but one slot??? The druid and paladin have loads.

Took me most of the night, but I finally got the ending I wanted for Astarion. That was a tough battle. Needing to kill cazador in 3 turns was a bastard. Then bring completely outnumbered against enemies who can cause sleep and paralysis . Can’t wait to hear Bichi’s review of that one The ending was kill cazador and free the spawn into the under dark. I was torn as he made a good point about them causing more chaos, but condemning thousands of spawns to death didn’t seem in keeping with my character, so managed to convince him to do the ‘right’ thing

That fight can be very hard or very easy. First try I just assumed it was designed to be done with only 3 characters, and my druid got instantly perma-paralysed, so I was trying to do it with just two. The Help action get Astarion in the fight and pauses the ritual (it's so simple it feels wrong that it works) and the Daylight spell pretty much shuts down Cazador.

Rogues aren't really primary spell casters. Sneak attack of their big damage dealer so consider how you can engineer the situation to allow that. IMO you're missing out by not having Gale in your party.

Let's just say that Gale is very... handy in my party. You could say that I was quite... disarming to him.

Gale is creepy. I may give him another chance in the team instead of wyll but he is slimy and also disapproved a lot when I was a bitch to people. I wish I didn't let shadowheart kill orc girl early doors but again she was constantly bitchin'. It's why I put gale in camp, to spare me killing him.
It's probably too big to replay but there are so many bits where I'm interested to see how the alternative option played out.

Safe to say I've had enough exposure to Gale to know that he sucks, so... something else happened to him next time around.

You playing as Durge, by any chance?
I find Gale quite useful so I didn't do what I think you're hinting at it. Do you get anything for having him around as a handyman or is it just for the lols?

Finished act 1, at 77hrs 40min but still level 7. Done a bit of act 2, (just got to the inn) and quite like the gloomy shadow vibe. All feels suitably adventury.

I genuinely don't feel like I rushed anything and I'm max 50 hours at the start of act 3, lvl 8 . Although I'm on easy so I can believe the normal.combat would shoot that time up loads! I haven't had to reload a battle more than maybe twice and most battles take ages as it is.

I honestly don’t know how you’ve got to act 3 at that level without seriously rushing things.
I’m close to the end at about 115 hours, although some of it is probably idle.

Does seem fast but being on easy probably does make a big difference. Some encounters took me a few hours. Seems like I’m at the faster end of the scale at 110 all out though.

Battles went pretty quickly on my current playthrough on Tactician. I think it goes a lot faster once you know what you're doing.
I'm eyeing up a go on the new difficulty, but I'll probably wait and play some other games before I jump back in.

I guess because I do everything (first uncovered every inch of map I could and then consulted an online missables list for Act1 before moving on) and have chosen the slow option in most cases. e.g. systematically wiped out the goblin camp and monastery. I also open every crate and shelf, and sell off everything I don't need in a slightly OCD way. I now have 20000 gold that I'm lugging around.
