So I’m at the Shadowfell entrance. I get the impression this is the end of act 2. But I’ve still got some stuff to do in moonrise, as well as the Halsin mission. But I thought to complete the moonrise stuff I needed the relic. But to get the relic I have to proceed here I think.
I know I’m supposed to just roll with my decisions in this game but realistically I’m only doing one playthrough and don’t want to miss a load of content.

Holy shit: Patch 5Is that even a patch anymore? Not read the details as I want to let changes and fixes accumulate and be a nice surprise when I replay the whole thing in the future, but a bit more meat on the ending is very welcome.

These patches are starting to go places that'd be Season Pass-locked in other games. Larian is knocking it out of the park with this, really hoping other companies take notice (they won't)

They did the same with the D:OS games and released the "definitive editions" for free, so it's not unexpected but certainly welcome. BG3 also released in a much better state than the D:OS games despite being much larger.
It's just kind of heartwarming to see how well it's turned out, both in terms of the game being good and how positively it's been received.

Or for Moonrise be a coward and go in through the back door A lot of that does sound cool, but the last thing I need is to make the game *harder*.

Do anything else in act 2 you want to finish, Shadowfell definitely moves the story along in Moonrise (and cuts off act1 for good I think)

YMMV I guess. I tried the "sneaky" back door method and I got absolutely twatted. I might it give it another go on my second play through.

Got a bit lucky in shadowfell I think. Managed to convince Shadowheart to ‘do the right thing’ by rolling a critical success on my final inspiration point. Phew. I think she pretty much proposed to me afterwards as well Now on to moonrise.

OK is anyone else getting annoyed with party members which stop following you? I know what triggers it...when you use any ability to transport somewhere, I.e teleport spells, digging underground with the badger, turning into smoke etc. Whenever you use an ability such as this, it causes this issue. It's a shame, because I cannot use some fun abilities because of it. Anyone else experiencing this? Also, did the latest patch just add wiggle physics on my junk?

Took out Gortash last night but the Fancy Footwork trophy didn't pop. There's differing info online about whether the traps have to damage you to count. And it's hard to tell which traps count and whether you might have set one off ages earlier. Think I will leave this one till a later playthrough...

OK is anyone else getting annoyed with party members which stop following you? Yeah, 3 of my 4 party members have illithid powers, allowing them to fly. The 1 that doesn't has to jump and if he can't he's left behind, which I often don't notice for a while, especially now that I tend to have a party of 7 or 8 thanks to several summons. Sometimes a party memeber with illithid powers also falls behind or gets stuck somewhere. It is annoying.

I don't know how it took me so long to twig, but I was assigning all illithid powers to my main character rather than spreading them across the party. I have several powers that I don't use at all. But there are also some crackers in there, including the ability to fly. On a subsequent playthrough I will manage it more carefully/strategically.

You are talking about party members getting stuck or physically don't have a path to follow you. I am talking about party members that are all standing next to me but they don't follow. It happens so many times when using powers as mentioned in my previous post.

OK I figured out the party member following issue. It seems when using certain abilities, party members can become 'ungrouped' from the rest of the party.
All I needed to do was regroup them all up again. It's amazing after 120hrs I am still learning new things. Wish I knew about grouping before, the amount of times I only wanted to control 1 character without them all following 😕

I also assumed that the tadpole powers were for your main character only. I've probably wasted a fair few on stuff I don't really want or need.
I'm guessing certain characters (e.g. Lae'zel) will need some convincing to take them though.

I haven't asked any of my party members to take the tadpole and I haven't taken any more than I need to.
I'm playing as a Paladin and it seems wrong to accept these powers.
My eventual 2nd playthrough as an evil bastard is another matter

I'm currently on my 2nd playthrough as the Dark Urge.
It's not as chaotic as I though it was going to be. I'm not playing it *evil* as such. I always default to being nice whenever I do that. Seeing where it takes me.
But anyway. THERE IS SO MUCH STUFF I MISSED FIRST TIME ROUND. I think missed a 1/4 of the content for the the first area. Plus the Mountain Pass is *sooo* pretty. Especially that temple the wotsits have taken over as a creche.

Yeah playing the Dark Urge but a goodie isn't that much different. Really there's just a handful of scenes that make it stand out. It's not so fully integrated into the plot as BG2.

Just completed the House of Grief. Wow! That's a hell of a fight. Two characters downed by the end and my main only had 6hp. Bone Chill is a nasty condition!

House of Grief fight was a huge skill-check for me. I had to seal off the stairway with walls of fire and stone and make a murder zone with AOE spells. It was great fun once I got the strategy sorted, but the fight itself was quite buggy throughout.
I'm now in the House of Hope, and I think it's the last of the side-quests I'm going to do before pushing on to the end. I've got a feeling there's another nasty fight coming down there though!
Still my game of the year, still enjoying it a ton. Act 3 is noticeably buggier and not quite as focused as the previous once, but it's still ridiculously good. I'm just getting a bit fatigued with it now, over 100hrs. Looking forward to something a bit more basic next (Robocop).

Cleared the first floor of Moonrise, should be able to finish up there tonight. Struggled a bit with the camera and targeting, which has happened a few times, especially when there is lots going on in a small area.
I wasn't a big fan of Act two at the start but I've actually really enjoyed it. It was just such a big change of scenery from act 1 it took a bit of adjusting.
Think I'm up to level 9 now so feeling fairly powerful. Although it sounds like that feeling may change as I go into act 3.

I actually found the end of Act 2 some of the hardest, but going into Act 3 I have found fairly easy.
Most of the time when I am having issues I find I just need to approach things differently. At the end of Act 2 I was getting wasted by spells as my whole party were trying to squeeze through a doorway. In the end I used teleportation spells and that misty step ability to get better positioning and had Lai'zel on the rafters taking out the annoying archers.

Larian are the boss at ongoing game support. Best developer since CDPR turning around CP? (although the launch fiasco was still unforgivable…)

Not only have I embraced being half mind flayer, I've forced my companions to embrace it too. Astarion didn't even need convincing, because he is cool.
And now we can all fly with NO DOWNSIDE.
