How big is the PS5 version? And how’s the performance? About 115GB I think. I've nothing to compare it to.. I've had a couple of glitches but overall it all seems pretty good to me.

Took down Minthara(sp?) last night. Hold Person is great!

Sound a bit rapey user Alastair.
It's not so great when they making a saving throw though. Tasha's laughter seems to have a better success rate for me.

I tried Tasha's Laughter to no avail. It worked on one of the tougher gobbos though.
I am now in the Warg Pens...

They're both wisdom saves so it'll be different casters competence making the difference. Which is a combination of your stats and level. If you use charisma to cast it's based on your charisma bonus etc.

Yeah around that, it's chunky @spookyxelectric I've only had one small issue with textures not fully loading for a few seconds of a dialogue cutscene, other than that after a few hours of play so far so good.

Ahh that explains why I have more success with it as my charisma is at 20.

I've made progress in my relationship with her. Which even sounds creepy when I'm typing it! At our tabletop game thankfully none of us have gone in for wooing or the like. I guess as 4 middle aged men it would just feel super weird.

I like the ability to switch into turn based actions outside of combat. I would guess it sets the order by descending DEX score? I've not looked into it too closely. When I want to initiate some sneaky and coordinated gobbo killing it makes it much easier. In the Worg Pens they seem a little spread out so I need to think on my strategy...

Outside of combat theres no initiative so you can move them in any order, same as having equal initiative.
Initiative is rolled when combat starts. The order at the top there's an effect I can't entirely describe to indicate characters are switchable and it's always that way out of combat, in combat it's if they rolled same initiative.

Eeeeeeeehhhh... On the whole the controller based controls have been OK.
I just occasionally click <triangle> for End Turn rather than R1 for actions. But that's because I'm an old l4m3r.

If you use charisma to cast it's based on your charisma bonus etc. Adding onto this there's also gear, especially late game, that adds to the DC (difficulty class) of your spells. Highly recommended if you want to land a lot of CC. Does anyone know how/if advantage factors into saves, i.e. does it make the enemy roll with disadvantage if you have advantage against them? I've never played 5e before and haven't looked it up. Also, if you're trying to figure out what would work against an enemy you can always right click and examine them to see all their stats, resistances and active effects. If they have say 20 CON they're always going to add +10 to any save roll against spells that target CON, so probably best to try something else. They usually have some weakness to exploit.

It depends on what is giving advantage. Hiding doesn't give advantage to spell saves, but does for attacks. Inspiration can be used to give advantage to an attack, ability check or save. Bardic inspiration can give a boost to attack, ability check, and I think saves as well, rather than giving advantage. Most spells target WIS, INT and DEX ime.

My 5th level College of Eloquence bard has a cool feature called Unsettling Words - as a bonus action he can essentially call out an insult which then gives the creature a debuff of one bardic inspiration die on it's next save. It's a great combo!
Seems that BG3 only has the PHB sub-classes though.

I just discovered that if you drop a bag of a specific type (alchemy, camp supplies, keys) into an inventory or container it will hover up all items of that type. I sure wish I'd known that sooner because it makes keeping things tidy so much easier.

Yeah fuck it starting a new campaign on Tactician. I've managed most of an Immortal Empires playthrough and a weekend of Victoria 3 (fucking French communists), but Baldur's Gate 3 is still lodged in my brain.

Absolutely stomped a certain boss who lives a long long way underground now that I'm a more appropriate level for it. Such epic music for that fight as well.
The armour he drops is incredible too.

I do believe I know the battle you're talking about and I laughed out loud at that music. In a good way.

Started this on PS5 last night (had early access but in the end couldn't abuse the 72 hour head start so only started a day early) and fuck me, I'm immediately loving it. Spent far too long at the character customisation screen - initially thought I'd go Bard as lots of articles saying how fun Bards are to play, then wanted to try and wild magic Barbarian, but in the end settled on a Dragonborn Warlock. Acid breath coupled with some cool spells, good charisma options, feeling good about this. I will probably try a melee focused run-through at some point I'm sure, and also tempted to try a Dark Urge playthrough too. Can see this game taking lots of hours of my life... How big is the PS5 version? And how’s the performance? Let’s ask digital foundry! (it’s good) youtu.be/BePKdNwsMOQ?feature=shared

That's cool. Maybe mods will address this, but it would be nice if you could designate other bags like that. So if you make a bag for all your scrolls or potions or whatever, anything of that type would automatically go in that bag without clogging up inventory.

Aaand done. 175 hours according to Steam. Great game and really sets a high bar for other RPGs. Got the ending I was aiming for. The interactions were interesting with each character given time to develop and have their story. Lots of grey areas of decision making and the combat was fun - but hard when you go into a battle fresh without any prep. Story kept me interested and side missions were more involved than they have any right to be. I'd say this is my GOTY so far - just started Starfield so this may change.

Umm, it was kind of a joke. But never mind.
In other news I have now rescued Halsin. Next on my list is the priestess Gut. I tried to release the lever to open the spider door. Guard didn't like it, so then I attempted Mage Hand, but the UI said 'not enough space' which seems odd. I wasn't aware that Mage Hand had that sort of restriction. Seems like the perfect opportunity to use it.

I think if the portraits on the right have a special dashed line looking border, they share initiative. Outside of combat, you don't need to switch them to a certain order. You just select each character in turn, in the order you want to use them. I ignored potions and oils and such for too long and I'm not familiar with which ones last 2 turns, 10 turns etc. I think it's in the item description but I've managed accidentally overlooked it, used a potion thinking I'll have the effect until long rest and then I see a 3 turn counter rapidly counting down. *scrambles for Turn based mode button*

I assume I'm going to have to get good at potions n'shit for Tactician mode. Normal difficulty I rarely bothered and just hoarded them all "in case".
