Cue misplaced pass to Grealish Got a chuckle out of me. Just as everyone’s praising his passing he has three great options on and manages to play it to the one tiny spot that isn’t any of them.

Luckily Kane is also an amazing number 9.

I love the way Henderson always makes a really big show of looking for forward passes before passing backwards.

And then does a point to where he wanted them to stand even though they were free.

Can’t believe we lost to this bunch of farts in the final. At Wembley as well. We really did bottle that one.

We scored too early in that final as Southgate wanted to protect the lead. Fine if its 15 odd minutes left.

How is Bellingham only 20? Not only is he a ridiculously complete footballer, he's got the attitude and confidence of someone who's been at the top for 10 years. Zola summed it up well... 🍼👀

Channel 4 need to bin off Cole and Dion. They're both awful.

Well deserved win that. I could find some excuses for what went down but we got outplayed there. How can you stop those Bellingham moves?

It was a massive, massive underachievement to lose that final. I still think this England team will win a major comp in the next 2 tournaments. You're actually good now, whereas you used to be shit despite having good players.

The missing piece now is a manager that knows how to win major trophies and completely believes in this team’s ability to do it.

I just had a look at the teams and our current forward line up is miles better, we had Sterling, mount and Kane in 2021. Yesterday we had Foden, Rashford, Kane and crucially Bellingham behind them too. We just had that extra level of quality.

Foden's an interesting one. Clearly a massive talent but I feel like we're still waiting to see his full potential, and we've been waiting a while now.
I'd play Saka ahead of him when fit certainly.

Saka plays on the right though. Agree that I'd rather have 2022 Rashford than the current version, but I think I might still have him ahead of Foden as I think he's a bigger goal threat. Foden can play 10 of course but no way is anyone but Bellingham playing there.

That front three is absolutely light years beyond what most teams have. At international level you're lucky to have 1x player of that quality. Who did Italy have? Chiesa? Is he even really at that level...? Plus Rash and Jude were in the squad.

Foden can surely play in that left 8 role.

Just takes a manager with worse players to tactically know how to out perform Southgate.

Foden can surely play in that left 8 role. What's the left 8 role?
I'm no FM tactics/formations guru but I see it as a 4-2-3-1 with Kane, Rashford/Foden, Bellingham and Saka as the front 4. Rice and someone better than Phillips as the 2 CMs.

It's enabled by the whole inverted full back thing. Drop Phillips, play Rice as the DM (6), Foden plays more centrally but left side (so not far from the LWF) and the midfield is bolstered by a full back stepping into midfield. Or I guess Stones could do the same from CB.

Or I guess Stones could do the same from CB. Absolutely no chance Southgate does this The simple solution is Rice as DM, Bellingham and Maddison as CM. Those two supporting a front 3 of Kane, Saka and Rashford / Foden / Grealish (whoever is in form) would be amazing.
