I'd have taken Grealish over Gordon, but tbf no criminal decisions. Glad he's finally pitched Maguire. Gotta be his career basically done now. Off to Saudi with him.

To be fair, I think he is injured right? I can't imagine Southgate dropping him if he was fit.
I know he has taken Shaw, but he is our only LB so worth a gamble.

Big Dan Burn can do a job at LB. If only Newcastle hadn’t lost every game between November and April 4-0

I'd have taken Grealish over Gordon, but tbf no criminal decisions. Presumably based on his tournament experience and his fairly unique attributes, as opposed to form and stats?

It's so difficult to tell when Maguire is unfit to play as he's fucking rubbish when at 100%.

I don't understand not taking Grealish over Gordon. Maybe I've just not watched enough of Gordon but having Grealish coming on in the 75th minute to run at a tired defence and pick up some valuable free-kicks seems pretty bloody useful in a tournament.

That's precisely what Southgate is likely going to utilise Gordon for.

I think Bowen and Gordon are *fairly* similar, younger players but I think Bowen is better, hence I'd take Grealish for his experience and general awesome-ness.

Maybe Gordon is better pick for future blooding in then. Meh. Nice to have the options I guess.

Gordon is just as good as Graelish when it comes to winning the softest of free kicks/penalties

Bowen and Gordon tend to play on opposite flanks too, so I'd say Gordon is the direct competitor for Grealish on the left and I'd personally take Gordon, think he's got more of a cutting edge these days.

I see Gordon as a like-for-like replacement for Grealish in the "missing the crucial penalty in the shootout" role.

Gordon and Grealish would both be doing the exact same job as far as I can tell. Gordon has more goals this season but I’d imagine it was a coin toss for who got picked.
Gordon was a lot more important and involved for us than Grealish was for City but then Grealish is more experienced in Big Games.
