I'm just so pleased. That performance actually deserved the win and for the first time really it'd have really hurt to go out.
Well done Gareth. Yes he's been lucky but you have to give him credit for the changes, even if we were all screaming for it.
Really glad we avoided more extra time. Quite worried by how knackered Rice looks. There's just no real replacement for him.
Kane will start the final but he really shouldn't.
Hopefully Shaw is ready for 120mins by then too.
It's a tall order but I so want this team to win something and Gareth to go out on a high.

Fair play to Southgate it seems every single one of his substitutions has worked perfectly.

I wouldn't say Southgates been lucky. For the first time since forever, England have the best squad on the planet to get this team out of a whole.

I stand by my view that we’ve got top tier players who have got Gareth out of jail many times. The way he sets the team up, some his decisions (or lack thereof) are questionable at best.
However, he’s built a proper team ethic and the players clearly like and respect him. That’s no mean feat for an England manager and maybe it might just take us all the way.

Had the winning goal ruined by mum who rang us to say she couldn't believe we were winning, was confused as it was one all. Turns out our stream was two minutes behind theirs. Phone on silent, messages ignored for that exact reason! (Only have OTT services now) Have my parents visiting. First goal had my dad's phone ping and him check it and say "oh no" - spent a few minutes asking him to turn it on silent. My Mum joined us a few minutes later. Her phone pinged and she informed of us the second goal. Honestly felt like a teenager trying not to throw a tantrum.

Normally i would think we would have our typical luck and fluff the final, but fortune seems to be on our side for once.
Perhaps the negative influence of the Tories was holding back our fate, and finally dispelling them has put the stars on our side, allowing the nation free to achieve its glorious sporting destiny.
Hopefully Spain do the equivalent of a souls boss bugging and falling of a cliff.

He’s going to start the same 11 and have a wrong sided Trippier against Yamal. That should be fun.

Had basically the exact same thing happen when my girlfriend's Slovak mum texted us 'goal' in the Slovakia game and totally killed the Bellingham bicycle kick moment for me. Didn't even know I was behind live.

I don't get this, help me out someone Wayne Lineker (Gary's brother) is a shady money launderer who famously owns a bar in Ibiza and posts lots of social media clips of himself showing off surrounded by much younger women.

Gonna need more than that Ibiza is Spanish. Gary Lineker was England's record goalscorer. They don't talk to each other.

Still making absolutely no sense, is it humourous? What does Gary have to do with the “wayne lineker derby”

Still making absolutely no sense, is it humourous? Yeah it's just a throwaway line that I thought was funny. The joke is that it's such a niche and small time way to frame such a massive match. The idea is that Wayne Lineker will be conflicted between England and Spain. Not really anything to do with Gary, except that the Lineker name is the only reason why Wayne has any relevance and gets any media attention at all.

Didn't even know I was behind live. These are all horrendous. I'm quite used to putting things on silent and turning off notifications etc (and getting my eldest to) because I watch all games streamed. I think I might have properly lost it - the whole point of sport is to enjoy it in the moment. Without that, it's pointless.

Due to Love Island I worked out that on the nights I watching second halves on my phone that iplayer on my phone was consistently almost exactly 30 seconds behind watching BBC1 on our tv.

Not that I was alive in '82 but the celebration really reminds of Tardelli.
Got that same slightly manic joyous energy. Watkins's might become as iconic.
