That look fucking great. Apart from the bun, looks a bit brown/dry.
But the patty with the cheese and burger sauce underneath looks lovely.

Thanks. Buns (whole-wheat) were great. Slathered on enough butter before putting them into the oven

Where is Didsbury relative to central Manchester? I usually go to Almost Famous when I am up that way. Its four-five miles south of Manchester. The Drawing Room is in West Didsbury. To be honest if you are visiting manchester for a night out for drinking and food west Didsbury is the probably the best place to go anyway. Its quite popular, full of independent bars, restaurants and cafes and is where all the still feel like we are 18 but aren't 'older' people go... Manchester City Centre is for the young uns How easy to get to from Old Trafford? I'll be up there for 3 days of the test match soon.

Different bun is fine, sick of brioche ones now tbh! Yeah, fuck brioche. It's at the point now where if a burger had anything other than a brioche bun it's immediately a thousand times more interesting.

Everyone's favourite forumites: smoothpete; Load; Alastair; and forum overlord neilka are here. Black bear, El Guero, Bob's Lobster, and Bleeker all well rated. Baba G's lamb jalfrezi burger wasn't that great... We also got a free round of veggie burgers, which were better than expected! Pics to follow...

The closest i'm getting to a burger is eating these beef monster munch.
Although, there was a 'pop-up' (gah, hate that term) Japanese restaurant in my town tonight, which we used, and was pretty good.

Yeahhhh I'm pretty tired of getting sticky fingers from the bun, that's meant to be the safe spot to grab it

Any great recommendations for cornwall (specifically Hayle/St Ives, but others are welcome as we are here for a week) for a source for good burgers?

Making burgers tonight and I can't get a standard, sesame seeded bun at my local Sainsbury anymore. Just goddamn brioche as far as the eye can see.

Personally I think you should all try a Luther Burger. I've had it twice before and it's a heart attack waiting to happen.
It's a Doughnut Bacon Cheeseburger. What you want to do is make it like any other cheese burger but with a Krispy cream glazed doughnut sliced down the center to form a top and bottom obviously.
Flip the top so the glazed part is sitting on the melting cheese and enjoy. It's weird but it's nice.

I'm going to a gig on Tuesday and a mate and I are looking at where we can eat before hand. One of the closest places to the venue is a Five Guys, never been to one before. Anyone got any thoughts on them?

They're as salty as you'd imagine a load from 5 guys would be. Plus you have to pay for extras.

Personally I really like Five Guys. It’s unpretentious. My standard order is bacon cheeseburger “all the way” with jalapeños
They make excellent fries, the portion size is massive. Like, unrealistically huge

5 Guys is solid. Steer clear of the sack of peanuts, you won't need them
