Not sure I want Pogi to win both the Giro and Tour. Last dude to do so was Pantani and a body full of EPO.

At least Pogi is (probably) not full of coke.

That has to be so frustrating for Vingegaard. You're giving it your all, hoping you're really hurting your opponent and he'll crack. Then he zips away from you and knocks you back over a minute.

Not as good as Jumbo’s last year though, they cooked up a TT performance twice as good

Whatever that climb was a few days ago, when Pog, Vin and Evenepoel all went up it *minutes* faster than Armstrong and Pantani at their doping best, worst, y’know.
Man, aero socks make a big difference, I need to get some.

Pog took most of that time on the descent yesterday, you could see how much he was pushing it into corners (and doing 92kph hunched over on the base bars), no 'special vitamins' are going to help with that.

Not just socks, the disc brakes and 165mm cranks are worth 30w each

Always good, but LeMond always seems so affable- I think the 8 second win TT tour was the first I ever watched. I’d love to know what width bars Fignon was on 🫲 🫱

The Men's Tour of Britain is coming through my village this year. Will do a WFH and take a break to check it out.

Pick the hilliest bit, or they’ll be past in 30 seconds. Actually, they still will.

Also make sure they haven’t lassoed you with the route or you’ll be trapped for hours.

Pick the hilliest bit, or they’ll be past in 30 seconds. Actually, they still will. They went the wrong way when going through our town on the second last day a few years back and the race got nullified for a bit until the break came back to the right road and got their time up the road added back on over the peloton. All in the lashing rain too sadly. Got a good look at a lot of expensive bikes on support cars and poor soggy cyclists. Saw wout at doping control the next day when he won it. There were a few cycling groupies hanging out for a signature. 🤣

The club I used to ride with did a ride up to Essex to watch the Tour go past, 100km to get there, lunch at the Blue Egg, wait at a quiet stretch of road for the blur to fly by, a young Tom Dumoulin came through about a minute after the peloton following a mechanical and gave us a pose before we rode back following the route and enjoying the closed roads while people cheered us on

There is a nice tightening, 'chicane'for want of a better term that they will have to negotiate. It will be the choice spot to watch.
I guess a side benefit for us locals will be some new tarmac. That section is pretty much lunar surface-quality at the moment.

Yeah. He was going really well. Dug a lot out of the verge too, so it was no surprise he quit, but still a real shame.
He's had a bad time of it this year.

Man that knee looked nasty. A shame to lose those 2 jerseys and I dont think we'll see him for the WC this year either.

I need help. Is this the thread for bike advice recommendations?
Need a decent road bike, my first "proper" one. It's going to be second hand so I potentially get more for my money. Looking at
Scott addict 20 Giant propel or tcr Trek domane Orbea orca
Going to be for triathlons. Roads are shit here so TT bike pointless.

Tbh any of those bikes will be good to ride, it’s hard to buy a bad bike. Some brands tend to have better QC which can be an issue with things premature bearing wear or annoying creaks. Giant tend to be good as they manufacture in their own factory. I’d avoid Scott personally but that might be just me
