Should we make a "random sports that don't warrant their own threads" thread? Then I can bore you all about AFL!

I ended up watching the cyclocross yesterday on 8x speed, didn't seem very interesting at all. Anyway, now that's out of the way, world tour in Europe starts up again on 25th Feb with the Omloop. www.procyclingstats.com/calendar/year-calendar

I've never ridden a time trial bike but it's been said they're a tad tricky to steer.
Doesn't sound like something you should wall grind of whatever he's doing here.

Bam! Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne, Jumbo Visma strikes again.
Looks like JV is the new Quickstep.

It’s what they wanted. I wonder if we’ll see a few 1-2-3 finishes this season once Wout returns.

Oooh. I forgot Strade Bianche is this Saturday. What a pleasant surprise.
Van Aert and Pogacar won't be there but with Pidcock, Van der Poel and Alaphillipe at the start. It should be as exciting as ever.

Isn't there. He rode like an old lady on downhill gravel sections last time he rode it, he's improved since but I guess it's not really his thing right now. www.procyclingstats.com/race/strade-bianche/2023/startlistEdit looking at the odds, MvdP is the clear favourite, I'd have an each way on Matej Mohoric or Tiesj Benoot though.

End of the women's race was a bit weird, was never really sure if they were racing each other.
Men's on now, Pidcock descending is something else.

Interesting breakaway. Poggers had launched it from here

Theoretically, 11 guys should be able to reel back Pidcock's 26 second over 20-some km but he's looking good so far.

Beautiful solo victory. Some strange Jumbo Visma tactics in G2. Had Valter done a big pull at the front of that group when they were 6s behind...

Two incredible races there. Think SB has the best finish run in of the year. Weirdly flat after the womens, almost like Vollering had been promised the finish but Kopecky decided to race it or something. Some politics there. What a stunning race to watch though, man.

Apparently the green jersey gets an overhaul this year.
New sponsor, new shade of green. To be used in Paris-Nice, critérium du Dauphiné and TdF.

Looks too understated. I would of thought the green jersey needed to be bright so it stood out and rivals can spot them in the pack

Ugh, Skoda logo green, sellouts. What’s next, a KoM jersey sponsored by Pepsi?

Looks good in a render like this but it'll be hell keeping track of the green jersey in the pack. I'm not sure if it's actually in this shot or if it's a joke.
