Main story finished so just need to finish up the side stuff.
Really fun game and looking forward to (hopefully) more content and games.
Would be very surprised if they don't have them looking at DLC now.

Lvl 22 and no idea how deep I am in the game. Still enjoying it. It's a solid 7 maybe an 8 if the main missions get nice and epic. I've started ignoring side stuff now though as there's plenty of other games to be completed.

I was annoyed to basically get to the end before realising how you equip the clothing you find/unlock.

I would think I am near the end now. Of the 4 main trails, 3 was absolutely the highlight for me, assuming they are completed in a given order. I have really enjoyed and continue to do so. I think the game is a high 8, which is more than I could have hoped for so more than happy. I think HogLeg 2 could be something very special if they build upon this wonderful world.
The Gear needs a total revamp though, I think it is very poor, also maybe a better system for quick spell casting when using a pad, I am unsure what though. I would also look to the lesson structure in Bully to give the second game more of a full role play experience.

Completed yesterday as in finished all story quest and "won the day"! although maybe not as although I have certainly finished the main quest line, to actually get to the credits (and it is just a fmv and then credits) you need to be lvl 34, and I'm barely lvl 29. This is a bit frustrating though, as much as I have enjoyed the game a lot I'm not sure I am motivated enough to continue various activities to get my skill up to the required arbitrary number.
Anyway enough of that, the game world and Hogwarts are truly stunning and it was a pleasure to traverse them both. Loads of nods to the lore of course (I am a film wanker and not book one mind you!) the magic was done very well and there was certainly enough variety, not so much in enemy type but I will get to that. I thought the story was pretty decent and liked most of the characters, enjoyed the side activities but will hope we get more in a sequel, maybe Chess and obviously Quidditch.
Things I though needed improvement or would like to see in HogLeg2
Character creation: More voices, just more options of everything (SR2 as a guide, maybe not the dildos though!)
Customisation: most of the Gear was poor.
Enemy variety: Not enough
Lessons/classes: A bit more like Bully's structure.
More consequences, choices to actually and actively make a difference.
I think that is if for now. format: Series X (performance mode)
Time: 48+ hours
Skill: Easy (only diff I could see on higher skill was bullet sponging enemies, no fun)
Lvl:29
Cheveo: 23/45 (and counting)
8/10

Finishing a game for me is much like blowing my load. Just want to do something else and have no interest in carrying on.

So I did grind from lvl 29 to lvl 34 so I could see the closing fmv and actually "complete" (according to TA lol!) even though I stand by the fact I had done so already last week!

Had a quick go on this yesterday, amazing looking game in quality mode. Does feel like the character is walking through mud though, the animation is off on a few things. Climbing and people walking off small ledges is weird.

I'm at 15 hrs, level 22, think about 23% way through. About to start the trials. I just keep realising there is so much more map to explore! I am ok so far with the variety of enemies. I like attempting the dueling secondary objectives when meeting a group of enemies - gives major bonuses. I also hadn't realised an extra layer of depth to the combat which is that loads of enemies have particular combos / spells that counter them. Which you have to read the collection notes for to find out (or if you missed the prompt it probably showed once). I've tried the wizarding trials thing once, and that was insanely intense, although I think I did a bit too much exploring initially before I had a good chunk of spells - in particular the damage ones... So was quite underpowered and underlevelled. I am also annoyed I don't have alohamora yet to unlock all the locked doors I've been passing. And I should have gone back for the flying lessons earlier... I already walked to most of the floo networks I really really wish consoles had an fov slider though. I sometimes feel a bit queasy while playing.

On my tablet the YouTube logo in the middle of the thumbnail is positioned in just the right way to make it read "Warts and all!", and I really hope that was intentional because it's funny

Decided to grab this while it was 40% off on Steam.
What broom replacer do I get; Shrek, Thomas or Chicken Wing?

A luck dragon from Neverending Story would also be acceptable.

Picked this up on Xbox while it was on sale last month too. Finally made space to install. First impressions, it’s pretty! Started it up in Balanced Mode and liked how it looked and felt. Will try Fidelity and Ray-Tracing later. Combat seems wonky at the start, but so far the game is giving me Fable meets Bully vibes. I am a Ravenclaw, which means my tie is blue. I like blue. (I’ve never read these books)

It's a very good game. Possibly the last really good game that's going to come from WB Games any time soon. Want to play it again but will wait to see what's in the upcoming update. Know the timed PS exclusive quest is going to be apart of it.

oh boy. I spent a few hours just exploring Hogwarts. Haven’t gone to my first class, haven’t gone outside the school. This game is going to consume me.
Makes me want to watch the films now, too.

So, I really, really don't like the Harry Potter franchise.
I don't like anything about it, from it's absolute garbage scow of an author on downward.
I don't like the way its central plot is one of the clumsiest stories about racism since Star Trek's "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" with the two characters painted up like fucking Everton Mints, and yet also has the already well commented on in-built racism of the Asian character name and the Goblins being one massive anti-semitic trope.
I hate wands, I hate brooms, I hate pointed hats.
For the most part, I really, really like Hogwarts' Legacy. I saw other people playing and enjoying it, and I understood why the reviews were so good. It deserves all the awards and recognition. The dev team did an absolutely phenomenal job.
It doesn't bring anything at all to the table that's new in any way. Almost everything about it has been done before somewhere, but everything it has is polished to a very shiny level.
What I like most about it, is that it's basically a game in the Fable series, with some minor details having been fudged. If you renamed Hogwarts to "Albion Hero Academy", changed the wands to that shyte magic gauntlet from Fable 3 and called the goblins Hobbes instead, it would be Fable 4. I did a quest last night to go find a mistreated Elf in a cave, and when I got there the poor sod was already dead, alone in the dark in a cave infested by fucking massive spiders, which is exactly the sort of dark place as the Fable games would go to as well, with that kid who'd become a Hobbe or something.
That being said...
The voice actor for the male protagonist needs kicking in the throat, which is even more obviously apparent when the dialogue is so fucking repetitive. "Oh ho... Could it be? A Merlin Trial?" YES. YOU KNOW IT IS BECAUSE YOU'VE SOLVED ABOUT FUCKING SEVENTY OF THE THINGS ALREADY.
Too many side quests. I thought I was progressing quite reasonably with them until I cleared one of the arbitrary numbers only to find there were still another fucking THIRTY to be done.
Combat is pretty good, and scales well so you feel as if you are progressing and becoming more powerful, but it does tend to falter when occasionally whatever spell I've got assigned to one particular shortcut just refuses to work for a while. And despite the game having been out for quite a while now, the bug where you're unable to dismount the broom still persists even now.

Given that its author has essentially become Voldemort, I wonder if the Harry Potter series should be re-assessed as a tragedy in 7 parts about a lone wizard who tries to warn the world about the dangers of allowing mudbloods into schools and wider society, but gets demonized and eventually defeated by a mob of woke kids?

I was torn about getting this for my daughter. On the one hand, she's a pretty big Potter fan; on the other I really didn't want to give any more money to You Know Who. Anyway, she asked for it for Christmas and a relative bought her it - so at least *I* can still say I boycotted it (score one for technicalities!).
I was torn about it because I kinda wanted her to try to experience a larger narrative game. She got into Pokémon for a little bit but mostly she just plays The Sims and Minecraft. Which is absolutely fine, she can like what she likes, I was just wondering if it would give her an impetus to dive into a game as earnestly as she dives into a book.
Anyway, she's never fucking opened it. That's my review.
