Sometimes visiting an area before the game 'wants' you breaks the immersion a little bit down the line.
The characters made a huge deal of arriving in St Denis in chapter four for the first time in RDR2, ignoring the fact I'd already spent about 10 hours in there when it unlocked at the end of the second chapter.

Yeah sometimes I think the early GTA games had the right idea locking areas off until the story said so.

BoTW had a nice system to let you know you went somewhere you shouldn't have, it just killed you.

Wahey. Alohamora level 3. Nice! I have 15 out of 16 tokens for the chest. Going to be fun trying to find the last one

There isn't anywhere you shouldn't go in this. Various puzzles and entrances are gated by spells so if you don't have those you won't be able to solve them, but you can wander the areas, fight the monsters and collect things. If you want to explore you're free to do so.

Just did a rather good side-quest which took about an hour. Great bit of misdirection as it starts off like a basic fetch quest type thing but turns into a full on horror sequence. Genuinely scary - it features marionette dolls.

I assume that's the timed exclusive quest to the Playstation, which Sony arsehatted off so I have to wait a year before I can play it on my Xbox.

Love the atmosphere, music and just the general feel of it. They've really nailed it so far although I've not done all that much yet, mostly an interactive movie at the moment but I'm happy with that. My character though has ridiculously large cheek bones which didn't look the case in the character creator. Do I get a spell to change my looks?

The immediate and incredibly generous fast travel options for when you just want to do a quest is really very life improving.

Yep you can change your look at the hairdressers in Hogsmeade.

You can’t change your face though.

You'd think they would have come up with some spells for that by now. I'll have to see if the hairdresser can come up with a better style to hide these crood type cheeks.

If any fantasy universe is not going to have a spell for changing your anatomy it's this one.

Literally the first character you meet in the game:
Class and you are spot on, "took it off below the knee'... 'a rather striking mustache'... 'SNAKE, SNAKE!' ... 'Her husband had been entombed in ice. Like this. '... and of course, 'I'm afraid that I was very, very drunk"

How many thread pages before Bichii complains it's too long We are just lucky she didn't "play it" by watching some one do a playthrough on YT revan what game was that ? As for the game I am playing but very slowly, too many other gaming distractions, my PS5 is even getting a work out now and again. I have the Quarry to start on it asap.

What ever it was I played about 4/5 of it and it was doing my head in so I watched the last part on YouTube and I was so glad I did as it dragged even more. I've picked my wand and now I'm back at Hogwarts. I struggle to game much these days as any long sessions fill me with guilt that I could be doing some other job I've been putting off. I used to love a day off like today and just game all day with no guilt.

Genuinely scary - it features marionette dolls. Just finished that. Thought I’d do a quick side quest or two with my free 20 minutes. Oops. It was certainly something.

I don't, if I get a free day I'm right on it. Although I only really get to play on weekends at the moment as I'm too tired during the week

On the incredibly rare occasions I'm left to my own devices, I might have a day long session if I'm playing something really good.
Tbh, I don't think that I've even turned the PlayStation on in about ten days.

I seem to game with the boy but other than that, unless there's something I'm in love with (Dead Space recently for example) I can't do more than about half an hour on my own. I'm disappointed in myself.
