Ok, so because I live under a rock, I thought I'd better read up on all this rowling thing. fucking hell, I don't know whether it's because I've read it all in one go, but fuck me, can we just shut twitter down please? It appears to bring the cunt out in everyone
I've said it for a long time, but social media is one of the worst things to ever happen to society. We are so much worse off as a whole because of it.

It is good that people make a stand against inappropriate behaviour from a company or person directly linked to a particular product. I have done the same with Blizzard for quite a while now. Since all of the bollocks going on there I pretty much stopped playing their games. Played the first Overwatch a lot, not even played the 2nd one. I have though buckled and given them £9 for the battle pass for COD, the shame. I will more than likely be unable to resist D4 when that releases. We can be pretty fickle when it comes to something we feel we want even though we don't really need it. If only JKR Would give a full and frank apology to everyone this morning I’m sure she could dig herself out of this rather ugly hole. I'm certain most if not all would agree her comments are ill founded. They were deeply ignorant, they showed a complete lack of understanding of modern life, and simply served to highlight the sort of intense stupidity that minorities face daily from armchair authors who forget to think before they open their mouths. if she just issued a frank and full retraction of what she said, she could get herself out of a lot of silly bother. In the character creation, I tried to give my young man a similar impish face and stupid haircut when I was a 17 years old. I did choose Witch class and not Wizard hoping I could hang around the girls dorm. I'm not sure if wizards and witches are tied to being male and female these days. Maybe I will find out later.

I watched James Stephanie Sterlings video on youtube yesterday and I felt that she was very confrontational. She basically said that she has a big issue with me for buying the game, that I was not for trans rights.
I don't really do politics. I just want to play a good game made by a bunch of people not related in anyway to JKR.
I unsubscribed from James Stephanie Sterlings channel. The moment you bring politics into it and make aspersions about me, you have lost my support.

Yeah, I can understand Jim's rant due to it being something they feel very passionate about. Sure, you can get upset that they tell us we are not an ally for buying the game but it is nothing compared to what trans people are probably feeling from the general public giving them a bashing. Again, this comes down to the social media side of things that I generally keep away from. It just generates so much hate from both sides, it is really detrimental to peoples mental wellbeing.

Twitter should definitely be banned. There is such a problem with people hiding behind there phones being absolute wankers. Try going to your local pub or coffee shop and speaking that way to people, be it for or against a certain principle. You just don't do it because it is socially unacceptable and if you do, you will get thrown out. Social media though, you get a free pass to be absolute twat.

I *wish* people would hide behind their phones when being transphobic and homophobic. Instead it happens in parliament, in the streets, in public spaces. It's inescapable, and rowling is using her platform to make it worse. Deleting Twitter won't solve that, it's a symptom of a much larger problem where people with the most money can buy the biggest megaphones. The brand of that megaphone doesn't matter.

Your repeated comments on the EG comments sections that you copied and pasted were you bringing the politics of the game into a completely unassociated topic of conversation. You're literally dealing with politics with the post you've written. Also were you really subscribed to the channel? And then endless copying of their bullshit, be it by people supporting or opposing their views, gives it further reach.
People are dickheads, and will be dickheads without Twitter. But their words impact and prominence would be greatly diminished.

You just don't get the nuances with text and we can all agree that when someone is texting something with tongue firmly planted in cheek, that is not always easy to see. People are maybe ignorant of what it is like for many people who are LGBTQ but to me, that is completely understandable because most people don't even think about or have to interact with it on a day to day, real world scenario. When Jim says everyone who bought the game is not an ally, most folk will have no idea who Jim is, what they stand for or that they made a purchase that has pissed people off. So in my black and white, no middle ground, social media rant, if you have refrained from buying HWL due to a stance against JKR but are still using Twitter and Facebook, you are a fucking massive big blue dick/clit of hypocrisy. It's just the ever constant art vs artist debate innit. Artist creates something that people love, artist turns out to be a cunt, art lives on and transcends artists cuntiness, people take ownership of the art due to what it means to them, artist isn't even considered when people enjoy art, artist still gets money from art though, and uses money to fund cuntiness, people don't care as they love the art.
It's a bit of a "oh gosh I don't know what the fuck" type of thing.

I had subscribed on and off for a while to be honest. Most of the time its the constant negativity about everything which turns me off her channel. However, it was more to do with questioning the integrity of my character directly which has turned me off for good now.
At the end of the day, I am going to continue playing and enjoy the game. I will continue to be nice to everyone I meet in person and treat everyone respectfully and equally, regardless of gender or background.
I cannot be held responsible for what other people get up to and I refuse to feel ashamed or pressured by other people.
