It was mostly down to having a vague list of things you *must* do within 60 seconds, in a tiny car park and you can't hit ANYTHING.
Who the fuck thought a timer was necessary for a tutorial??

Any early impressions of this yet? I've got very little love for the world, lore etc, can watch the films and they're.. fine, my lad doesn't really pay it much attention. But this game looks fucking brilliant and I really want to play it. There are a few through the last few pages but the constant chatter about JKR and now difficult parts in any other games means you have to really look for them. Essentially the reviews are accurate. Game is very well crafted, the IP adds a lot to it, but the underlying structure is pretty formulaic if you played a lot of open world stuff. If you donβt mind that thereβs a lot to like.

Don't get this obsession with genre. Why do we have to label everything as a specific genre, just let a game be what it is.

I believe the term is genre-fluid.

So long as it doesn't identify with another genre.

Found Rowling's secret Steam account...

Sadly it seems she either has 70 ALTERNATIVE ACCOUNTS (the full version of what I'm referencing is worth watching, by the way, at least IMO) or the Steam community is just bad... Because there's plenty of similar topics to be found in between the bug and spec complaints and those precious few that are just trying to have fun with the game...

Probably one for a new thread, but what's the hardest part of any game you've played to date (without lowering the difficulty)? Mine was the Nergigante fight in Monster Hunter: World. Last mission of the original Driver. Absolute bullshit. Last mission of Driv3r beats anything in the original for difficult bullshit imho. Alma in Ninja Gaiden beats that though. Airwolf on ZX Spectrum beats them all though.

Last mission of the original Driver. Absolute bullshit. I've thought of a harder one. Sonic 2 on the Gamer Gear, the first boss. Beat it once, but must've tried hundreds of times. Only relatively recently found out that I was far from alone. It was due to image cropping the Master System version.

Is this thread just for micky taking ?
In any case started Hogwarts this morning and the first hour/prologue was fookin excellent, I think I am going to enjoy this. I'm Ravenclaw house btw or at least that is what the hat decided I should be ?

A discussion about difficult games and no mention of Ghosts and Goblins? For shame.

That's pretty normal on Steam forums, it's the rubbish bin of the gaming community.

Imagine living your life like this: They're 100% right, all of this is historically inaccurate. Although evidence of goblins controlling banking during the 19th century isn't fully corroborated, even to this day. He should probably recheck his history books.

I do like the idea of someone buying the game to somehow own the wokes then getting angry at an ethnic minority or trans character.
Of course most people are buying the game because they like the universe and that's fine.
I think one of my friends bought the game because she like the creatures, as she's now frequently posting pictures of said creatures into our WoW guilds discord. Most recently she posted a picture of a mythical beast known as a "Highland Cow".

Imagine living your life like this: This guy (I'm being sexist and assuming this is a guy), makes some good points. We all know that the blacks magically appeared overnight in the UK in 1954. There had been a few stories during the turn of the century of black people sightings, but that turned out to just be chimney sweeps. Gay people were very rare at the time of the game's setting (it was just Oscar Wilde - he felt lonely with no one to sex with). Whilst trans people are a new invention, likely some side effect of long COVID. Wizard game needs sorting for historical accuracy.

The opening hour was indeed very good. I went Ravenclaw too.
I am only about 4 hours into the game and the last 3 hours has just been exploring. Hogwarts castle is absolutely massive and it is so detailed, its extremely impressive.
Also visited the nearby town which again was very detailed and it was fun just visiting all the shops.
I have no interest in the Harry Potter books or films at all, but I am loving this. Only 4 hours in, but I am fully immersed in this world.
