Yeah, the fandom sites are probably the most aggressive ones I can think of for autoplaying videos and the like. I absolutely hate them.

I wonder whether long term the plan is for Jeff G to join Nextlander. I suspect there's some sort of non-compete clause he has to satisfy for a year before he can join another company. Wasn't him leaving GB exactly a year-to-the-day from the date Vinnie, Alex and Brad started Nextlander?
It's a real shame how things have panned out because I really like Jeff Bakalar, Dan and Tamoor but don't have time to listen to so many podcasts.

He would probably take over and not give anyone else a chance to get a word in. I like him and he is interesting to listen to but he has a tendency to dominate the conversation. I actually prefer the bombcast now as it's far more varied in opinions.

If he joins the team it would have to be its own thing, that trio is great at the moment and the podcast is superb.
Alex used to boil my piss when he was on the GB, in Nextlander I really like what he has to say and don’t mind him at all. 🤷♂️

Still find it odd they didn't do a tribute to him on the Best of video like they have done for everyone.

I’ve kept up with all of them as they’ve split off, and I quite like Gerstmann’s solo effort now. It took some getting used to, but it doesn’t feel weird just having a one guy monologue any more, and he frequently adds perspectives to the news items that you don’t hear on GB or Nextlander.
I can just about keep up with the main GB and former-GB podcasts, but I feel like I’m missing out on some of the Patreon extra ones. Not enough time for everything.

I did notice that pretty much as soon as Gerstmann left GB then we started seeing GB x NextLander crossovers. So maybe there is some bad blood there. |

They did one during the annual for the kids streams but Jeff was absent.
But yeah they have done a couple more since and bought back Quick Looks and so on which Jeff took away the year before.
He never wished them well publicly when Nextlander started or even did the polite follow on twitter.
It felt like once they left the studio Jeff disliked sharing a mic with others.

Yeah it does speak to some serious fallings out.
I only have the time to watch and listen to GB intermittently these days but I honestly feel like the team they have now is great. Obviously it depends on how much you can stand Dan’s antics, but they’re a good and interesting bunch and I hope they do well. Especially good to see Jan emerge from the background.

Maybe now they have new owners they can finally do a Best of send off?
But as said before it's interesting that old crew members came back or have done stuff with GB since he left.
Maybe he had become so hard to work with they said fuck it just leave now.

I just listened to Jeff’s latest podcast and 2 things stuck out - the fact that it was a “bad fit”, and him saying he’ll be angry about aspects of it for a very long time. Can’t see there being a best-of or a happy reunion under those circumstances.
I do like where the Giant Bombcast has gone more recently, but I can also totally imagine there being some pretty big personality clashes between Gerstmann and the newer members
