It took about 10 minutes to realise what this was. Impressive doing it live, the cuts by himself and talking based off the comments but not my thing. Response seems to be pretty positive though This is like if a bunch of middle aged guys tried to film a dystopian take on what young people will be watching in the future. It belongs in the background of a cyberpunk film. I’m not even sure if this is a compliment. |

They still do all the other stuff but now promote friends/other channels now and then. It's odd that I'm finding GB better now that Jeff is gone while also finding Jeff better by himself. The Nextlander crew leaving seemed to really sour him on GB. Add another crossover between the two. Not sure if Jeff did anything for the event but doesn't look like it. |

I was just always more of a Whiskey Media era guy. I still watched the majority of the stuff they put out after that and is was roughly around the start of the pandemic maybe a bit before that I drifted away. Jeff had lost people like Ryan and Vinny who he could bounce off of and balance his cynicism, Brad seemed very burnt out and the majority of new additions did nothing for me.

Just don’t cancel Albummer is all I’m asking and its been cancelled. Last episode went up today and they say a bunch of stuff you could probably only joke about if its your final episode. Hopefully, it’ll mean they do more actual Two Minutes To Late Night comedy content and not just leave their youtube as a bedroom covers channel like it turned into during the pandemic. |

On hiatus according to Bakalar same with Friday Night Forking which went from 6 to 4 episodes.
Guess is the new owners have made some budget cuts and don't want to be paying any 3rd parties.

I joined at the exact wrong part of the stream and got massively spoiled on Pentiment… but I probably wasn’t going to play it anyway. Elden Ring map warp should have won Best Moment though.

Jess and Jason have both been laid off from Giant Bomb. Presumably a reshuffle after the Fandom acquisition.
Jason’s one of the long timers and I liked that he unapologetically liked and spoke up for certain types of games (“a Jason game”). And Jess did some great stuff too, I liked her on the podcast.
Lots of comments saying “well that’s it for Giant Bomb then”. Not sure I agree- I do still like some of the remaining crew (particularly Jeff Grub who I think really stepped into the limelight when Gerstmann left), but it does feel like it’s on a slow decline at the moment.

I'd stopped watching by the time Jess joined but I found Jason the most boring member of GB in their history and thought he should have stayed working behind the scenes.

That's shit, I like them both. Jason knows his fighting games and gaming wise I have very little in common with Jess but she cracks me up on voicemail dump truck when she is on there. Its so shit for her because she had literally got her dream job working there.

Strange choice because it's good to have a female voice and presence on the site. I know they have Lucy but she is far more involved with GameSpot. Maybe the sites will merge soon.

As I drive for a living I spend a lot of time listening to podcasts on my way to and from the area I work in. Dan makes me laugh so often and I'm honestly gutted when he isnt on either of their podcasts.
I think Jeff summed it up really well, every time you talk to Dan it's like meeting him for the first time.

I tend to listen to it via YouTube when I'm at home.
I've always liked Jason. Just a chill guy who never got into the screaming or acting like an over the top youtube personality the others started doing a few years back.
Enjoyed GOTY with him as he always had a different taste/Outlook on the game's being discussed.
Enjoyed Jess video essays she did but her crying to get her way during the last GOTY discussion did annoy me a bit.
Oddly enough they just announced more Friday Night Forkin videos.

Can't help but feel GB need to add something different to survive now. Maybe try doing the
"10 biggest games coming this year"
"7 times you had to..."
Type videos like Outsidexbox and others do alongside what they already do.
1 Outside Xbox video tends to get more views than a 6 months worth of GB videos.
Arcade Pit and Friday Night Forking have a very limited appeal.

Jason's a good guy going through quite a lot lately. As a regular contributer to the Bombcast as a game reviewer I dunno but he has a niche I enjoy.
It's weird but I haven't been following many gaming podcasts since the split. Bombast, Nextlander, Jeff's own thing, it's a lot of hours to dedicate to each week (granted I don't have the free time anymore to dedicate to it like I did back in the day).

Just feels like every time GB starts to find its groove something sets them back.
I've gone off Jeff's stuff recently as I don't care to listen to him rank energy drinks for 15-20 minutes each show.
The Nextlander crew feel like they are just going through the motions recently and don't sound too interested in whatever they are talking about.
Waypoint seem to be struggling for views a well.

I stopped watching most of it live, the Tuesday podcast is bath time so still washing my balls while Jeff's talking, seems right. The youtube stuff I put on in the background most days but rarely pay attention.
I do try sub to a patreon once a year for each to grab the stuff I missed but giantbomb I haven't paid for since the big split.

He made me laugh a couple times, but I couldn't get over all the general knowledge stuff he doesn't know. At times it felt like he spend 27 years glued to the sofa watching only wrestling. |
