So, yeah I've played this game so many times but fuck that was a great first episode. And yeah it has similar things to the game but the act of it being an actual love action adaptation makes it feel fresh and different enough for me that I'm looking forward to watch all the other episodes. Love action? Did you check the torrent link? |

There was more love action in the second game, so probably have to wait for season 2.

There was a bit where Tommy was calling Joel on the phone and I was amazed at how the actor, Gabriel Luna, sounded exactly like the VA of Tommy from the game.

Loved it, got all the cast spot on. Joel on the couch was uncanny and Ellie is spot on.
Nice to see something transfer to the TV so well.

I am looking forward to but also dreading for when they encounter the Hunters because I always found that section absolutely brutal in how monstrous humanity could be.

As someone who’s always been keen to play this when it finally turned up on PC, should I wait until March for the release on Steam (as long as it gets a decent port) or watch it now?

Well I guess the show will probably finish around early March so it's probably timed to release with the PC version. I'd say game first then TV show.

Looks like its nine episodes, with the first one being an extended length, so won’t finish until mid March.
In that case I’ll try to ignore all the hype and get the game done first before watching.

Never played the games, so I'm thinking this will be a good way to know what everyone's talking about without needing to commit to hours of gameplay.
On the other hand, I hope every episode isn't going to be 1hr20 minutes, because I don't want to commit that kind of time either.
Bella Ramsey has been good in the things I've seen her in.

The gameplay is a little dated now in the first game and was never the reason the first game is so good. The second plays much much better but you should steer clear of that until you have watched more TV than they have currently made. They might tread a completely different path as well but who knows.

Yeah, it feels a bit early to be speculating about season 2 but here I am, doing so: I wonder how the hell they'll approach it (assuming S1 is the complete arc of the first game).
Anyway, I thought the first episode was excellent. It doesn't make me want to play the game again as all the best bits are up there in the show.
