Derbs and Jambo providing the drama that some felt was lacking in ep 7.

To be fair I've never seen Bella look her age either. She gives me the eternal kid vibe that the Matilda actress has. Zero issues with it in regards to this season but now I've finally finished TLOU2, depending on how close they stick to the story and who they cast for the new characters it's going to take a bit more than make up to really buy into it. I suppose it really depends on who they cast as Abby, because even the actress playing Reilly towered over her and Abby is HUGE . Saying all that it could be as someone else mentioned and that I'm just an old fucker as I have been guilty of saying anytime someone I knows kid starts secondary school "we didn't look that young at that age did we?", so I'm sure they'll work it all out just fine.

I've got to say after the last episode Bella Ramsey is Ellie for me. She's perfect in the role, and her performance in Left Behind was her best yet.
I take people's points about how young-looking she is but I'm pretty sure they will deal with this as well as they have everything else so far. I think the show's earned some faith.

Didn’t particularly ‘enjoy’ that episode as I knew what was coming, but Bella Ramsey is perfect as Ellie. She gets better and better.

Just watched ep 3. As someone who has always found TLoU overrated... wow. That was superb TV. Not quite as tear jerking as the His Dark Materials finale, but damn close!

Left Behind was ok. I think Bella is great but she's playing Ellie differently. Game Ellie is nicer and less snarky but whatever.
Much like the DLC, I don't think it added that much. I played it once and moved on.
I am most looking forward to THAT BIT near the end that always catches you off guard.

Would have liked it a bit longer but that was another great one.
Ellie is the best thing about the show.

Yeah needed a good 15 mins at least longer like 2 or 3 of the other episodes. David was no where near as good/creepy as the game..

I think they should have got the preistn from Deadwood as David but thought the guy they cast played it well.
This is the first ep I really wanted a bit more. And I'm nitpicking there, really enjoyed it still.

Another good one, which pretty much seems par for the course really, bit of a deviation from the game no clicker action with Ellie and David teaming up which lowers her guard a bit which isn't unexpected but pretty much everything else was incredibly close. Bella Ramsey also continues to be absolutely stellar as Ellie and Pedro Pascal's Joel is definitely not messing about although he could probably use a nice cuppa and a sit down at the end.

There's a few of us in work watching, and none of us really remember anything about the game. Kinda funny for how well appreciated it was and still is, and at the same time, completely forgotten. At a push, I could only clearly recall the giraffe moment, amidst some tepid stealth stuff.
Ho boy, that tonight brought a little more memory recollection, during the end scene it all came back.

Gonna be a game wanker here and say the cut scene at the end of that part of the game had so much more raw emotion, helped my some great edits, music and voice work. Fell a little flat for me but I did love the scenes with Ellie captured . Bella is great.

Definitely great episode and very brutal. I swear that David was more sadistic and was more awful to Ellie in the game, but I actually forget. The payoff in his death felt much more celebration in the game . The actors in the episode were great though. And buddyboy was Troy Baker, right?

The actor playing David wasn’t old enough imo

Agree with all of that. 50 minutes is not enough to build the required tension and payoff, it all felt a bit rushed. Still great though. I think they could have got two seasons out of the guest game alone.

At this point I'm pretty well convinced that they couldn't have found a better actor to play Ellie.
Again, really great stuff even if it felt cruelly short this time. Viewership figures keep ramping up to which is nice to see.

Very good episode. My only complaint was that I preferred how the very last scene happened in the game.

I had a great release (no sniggering at the back you fuckers) when caving that guys head in in the game and it was all the looooooooong tension they created before it- the separation of the two characters that had clearly fully bonded, Joel‘s drawn out low ammo journey to her and the creepy hunt in the restaurant. Can’t decide if this was less powerful because it missed some of the suspense there, or I just knew what was coming. She’s fucking great though and I’ll shiv anyone who says otherwise.

I couldn't move during the last 15 minutes. Completely rooted to the spot, totally engrossed. Amazing.
