I recently played through the PS5 re-remaster (it's totally worth it by the way) and I'm finding that watching the series with the events and dialogue from the game fresh in my head have enhanced my appreciation for how they've adapted the story for television.
Really good episode again this week.

Very good episode, Pedro Pascal was in incredible form and everything about it was so well done, the Northern Exposure reunion at the beginning of the episode was a nice way to get things going. Incredibly minor spoiler stuff but I'll protect it anyway : seeing Part 2 stuff "leak" into the first season was nice, Jackson was so well done and the nods to the future with Shimmer and it's probably Dina in the hall won't mean anything to non-gamers but are nice and unobtrusive Easter eggs. |

The relationship and chemistry between the leads is perfect and that was the hardest part for them to do. Everything just falls into place nicely around it.

That bit where they lifted the dialogue from the scene in the game where Ellie runs away about him not being her father hit much harder in real life. Damn another good episode. Also has already been mentioned I was intrigued how much they lifted from the second game. So I assume next episode is Left Behind no?

The title of the next episode is called Left Behind so it should be that interjected with the David stuff I'm guessing the next episode will (hopefully) have to be an 80+ minute one. |

I wondered if that might not be episode 8, and they really let Left Behind breathe. It's - the flashback part - one of the highlights of the game and the part that's least gamey. After that it's just the end, so not sure what episode 8 would be if not David.
Liked how close this episode was to the game, especially the scene that was identical mentioned above.

Meh merely an OK episode for me and why do people pull knives out, it's a cliche that really should be avoided in any tv/film/game production. I don't recall what happened in the game, irrespective, Joel wold not have done that.

Brilliant episode, again. Might be my favourite one so far, but really every single one has been fantastic. And I am definitely getting the remaster after this.
The things they have added or changed are perfectly judged.

Was a good episode. Maybe the most Joel and Ellie episode yet. And great seeing Rutina Wesley in this. Fucking loved her in True Blood.

Well a stab wound wouldn't have put him in the same condition as in the game where he fell from a floor up and got impaled on rubble, so they needed to have him bleeding out. While stupid to pull it out they made a point during the episode to show he wasn't exactly thinking straight and was worried about making mistakes so I personally put it down to him finally making one.

As explained on the podcast it was Craig Mazin's daughter Jessica that did it, he asked her to give it a go, she did bugger all for a couple of weeks as she forgot now it's going to be on the official soundtrack album.

For me, the “you’re not my daughter” scene lacked the gut punch the game had. Just delivered slightly differently. Can’t complain too much - the slight change in his reasons for wanting to part ways really worked well in the context of the series. And surviving getting impaled always forced me to suspend disbelief in the game so not precious about that getting tweaked. It’s just a brilliant series.

Yeah this one didn't really land with me. Felt a bit rushed. Did a lot in short space of time and it didn't have the impact of the game.

Can safely say this is the only TV show I've ever watched where they threw in DLC. Anyways that was great but can we get back to the main storyline next week pretty please.
