Trossard again butchering an opening.

Just imagine the kind of team Newcastle could be if all the best players weren’t made of glass and incapable of reaching 30 games a season Quality side for sure. Other than Hall, not many weak links.

I just think Arteta has got the balance of the team all wrong. Whats wrong with playing Jorginho?

Silly yellow from Merino. Wonder if that'll change Arteta's mind regarding the sub.

He clearly sees Rice, Merino and Odegaard as the 1st choice midfield.
Needs a change badly. Not working at the moment.

No coincidence we’re playing crap since Merino came in.

Willock going in hard on Nwaneri feels symbolic.

Just a shame that when those players are out injured you’re immediately falling back onto the Steve Bruce era squad.

0 shots on target. Wake me up when Odegaard's back.

City crying that they’ve only got 17 players with PL experience to pick from today. Must be awful having the same limits most other teams have to live with from time to time

The thing with Arsenal is they always try to walk it in.

Yeah, Newcastle have deserve this. They created and took their chance then shut the door pretty well. We've had promising positions but done nothing with them. Second half performance very disappointing.
Still plenty of mitigating factors but ultimately we're in November and if we're 8 points back it's looking like a long shot.

What a ball in from Saka, too. Felt like Rice got his movement wrong, was in too quickly.

Very strange performance from Arsenal. Fair play to Newcastle though, looked solid again.

Arsenal could do with an Isak upfront, tbh.

The 8 points isn't as worrying as how we perform. When we're not imploding or scraping through we've mostly looked a bit lost, and rarely have we looked like last year where we'd start fast and overrun teams. Our attacking approach seems to be pray Saka does something magical and beyond him we're relying on goals from players like Jesus and Martinelli who carry the threat of roadkill.
It was nice of us to offer Sterling a safe place to try and recover some of his self-esteem, but we need to stop fucking around and get serious about finding someone to score goals.

I'm still very confident that when we have a 'normal' side rather than a compromised one with people playing out of position that we'll look as good as ever. Beginning to think that might come too late for this season unless City start dropping points as well.
