This shifting around of players between certain clubs really is a load of shite. Yeah was about to post this. Twitter feed just seems to be Everton, Villa and Chelsea buying each other’s youth players. Wonder which clubs are looking at being done for FFP…

I’m pretty sure creative accounting is Horncastle’s explanation for why so many more top Italian players would end up playing for multiple top clubs and rivals in Italy than you generally see in other countries. Has FFP finally given us the means to turn the Premier League into 90s Serie A?

I'm enjoying Everton and Aston Villa selling fringe squad players to each other to cook the books for PSR Can we get in on that? 😡 You're welcome

Knowing Forest we'll have missed that the idea is to send someone in the other direction.

Looks like Sir Jim is paying similar levels of contempt as the Glazers to anything outside the men's first team

Fuck me, you should be a journalist with some of the stuff you come out with. We aren't looking beyond the first team for the moment turned into he hates the women's team.

And the women have been a top 5 side every year since they were in the WSL, and were close to winning the league a year ago. They are doing fine. The men just finished 8th lol.

Fellow Gooners: thoughts on Eze rumours?
The echoes of Ian Wright are emotive. Local kid getting a late(ish) move to his "dream" club from Palace having once been rejected. Appreciate everyone else will need sick bags, but it has the feels for Arsenal fans and the announcement video writes itself.
Not sure if Williams is a realistic option but if he is, money aside, I'd rather have him as we don't really have a 'proper' pacey winger and he's only 21. I have a slight concern over whether Eze would be effective keeping the width if played out wide left or if he really needs license to drift inside. Would be very handy if Gareth could try that for England tomorrow.

Signed him in Football Manager, played him in the middle and told him to dribble more. seems to work. I think he's versatile enough to cover both sides and in the middle, would add quality depth. would love to see him at Arsenal.
He's also a top lad by all accounts.

I really like him. Have been out of action for the weekend so catching up now. Credible rumours?

I haven't seen a huge amount of Eze but I thought he was much more of a 10 than a winger.

I really like him. Have been out of action for the weekend so catching up now. Credible rumours? Hard to say, I wouldn't get too excited yet. That Arsenal ITK guy who does the weekly youtube series with Charles Watts said he'd heard this from two independent sources at Arsenal (I'd normally be very sceptical but CW has a decent reputation to protect and is seemingly happy to be associated with this guy). Given the sensible release clause and Eze's previous public statements, it seems a lot more realistic than many of the other rumours I've seen lately. The Gyokeres ones today all come from Portugal so almost certainly b*llocks.

I'd be surprised considering Palace have said they would only let one of Eze or Ollise move this summer.

I wonder if release clauses carry any greater weight since the Luis Suarez debacle?

Suarez's was an exception though wasn't it? I can't think of a similar situation. Either there's a clause in a contract or there isn't. Not sure if the truth of that situation ever came out as Suarez evidently wasn't so excited by the move that he was prepared to take his employer to court.
It is certainly a bit different in England than Spain of course. In Williams' case, we could just do what we did for Partey without speaking to the club as contracts are centrally registered with a formal buy out mechanism.
Arsenal should be mindful of approaching Palace "in the right way" regardless seeing as we're hoping they might bid for one or more of Nketiah, Nelson and ESR. Feels like a deal should be pretty doable unless Palace can persuade Eze to stay as Liverpool did Suarez.

Can you kindly fuck off please, Spurs have apparently been genuinely interested in him for the past couple of weeks I'm getting daily articles in my Google feed about Spurs making him their record signing. Likely won't happen, but I'm not against it.

Yeah, it works differently in Spain. Not sure what has changed here from Suarez though - as you say, he could have forced it but ultimately chose not to. Just showed in the UK, it's practically worthless if the selling club chooses to dig their heels in, even if that risks upsetting one of their players.

muddyfunster shame, I think he'd do very well at either club. Arguably Arsenal don't need him, as they have good coverage across the roles he can play, but Spurs definitely need a player like him to help Maddison out.

I think we're probably trying to fill that No8 spot that Havertz decided he didn't want, plus cover on the left.

Perhaps you're right, although that's not really the impression I got from that incident. I thought it was more that the buying club has to be certain the player really wants to come and won't change their mind. Plus keep any bids quiet as you look like a tit if they do. Seemed to me like the clause was real and Liverpool just did a better job of persuading Suarez to stay than Arsenal did of persuading him to leave.
