I know people say stupid things when they get a microphone shoved in their faces but I am quite glad that will haunt her for the rest of her life.

TBF we don't know what her kids are like. She might have birthed Hitler or James Corden.

She must have a really shit life.
Didn't watch any of it yesterday and can't say I feel like I missed out on anything.
Hopefully we'll start to see less about the parasites in the media, but fear we're going to see continued royal coverage for a few weeks at least.

Remembering The Queen: One Day Later Remembering The Queen: One Week On One Month: Living Without The Queen A Year In Pictures: But None Of The Dead Queen I remember the news last Christmas just being rolling repeats of features on Philip for days. This year is going to be unbearable. I might just not turn on the news for the next year or so.

The news is sort of getting back to normal, though they spend an unreasonable amount of time on plebs who watched it from various pubs. Pubs, of course, that weren't serving drinks so it was a double whammy of bullshit for them.

We're going to get a tidal wave of press releases this week. No one has released anything since the day she died

Amazon has taken its "Our sincerest sympathies..." banner down; eBay hasn't, as yet.
Baby steps.

The Queen is the third story on the Guardian homepage right now beneath Liz Truss and Madelaine McCann(!)
Clearly not all news moves quickly

"How can you take something you own?" India has talked about getting Koh-i-Noor back. I can't see the big deal now that we can manufacture diamonds. Crown jewels is now just an output of a BBC entertainment program of the bake off format. "This week our contestants will be creating a new crown, fit for a king haha. And here he is, former MTV presenter and pop star, Paul King...."

I find most of the crown jewels utterly hideous.
The Imperial State Crown especially. Jim'll Paint It described he Black Prince's Ruby as a half-sucked Jolly Rancher and that's all I can see now.

Hopefully we'll start to see less about the parasites in the media, but fear we're going to see continued royal coverage for a few weeks at least. I don't watch much terrestrial TV these days, record documentaries from BBC 4 and never watch them, if anything Can't have watched more than 5 mins in total of any of the coverage, and that was made up of stumbling onto stuff on streaming platforms long enough to change the feed and get the shit off my screen. Just incredulous at the wall to wall coverage and the fact that I share an island with people who lap it up. A nation divided was never made more starkly evident. A lot of that going about these days

It was nice seeing Boris be the first of the former PMs into Westminster Abbey, then being told to move to the side and let the others through in order of premiership. Boris at the back of the queue, looking grumpy as hell and like a sack of rags left out for the charity shop.

By ensuring the leadership contest went on for a whole month longer than was necessary.

I like to count it until the day of his resignation rather than the end of his subsequent caretaker role
