Yeah, its weird. Its like they are trying to sell the dream by leaning into every terrible stereotype people have of crypto people.

Weirdly it just makes me think it'd be a potential setting for Bioshock 4, or Far Cry whatever.

It's bizarre, it's truly bizarre.
The scale of these scams is insane. There's a load of idiots with disposable income pumping money into fucking NFTs and shit like this fantasy island.
All tweeting at each other absurd diagrams, formulas and charts that are completely devoid of any value.
A world wide pyramid scheme.

Anyone got a blockchain we can use for this idea for an NFT?
Send in all your personal details, from national insurance number, DOB, bank account and sorting numbers, your birth certificate and full physical address and we will scan it all in, turn it into a .jpg and then sell you an NFT of that for twenty grand

Fart in a jar NFTs was a thing I didn't want to learn about today. I was just coming here to post that very thing. Not sure what's worse, paying $1000 for an actual fart in a jar or coughing up for a picture of one. I saw that on Twitter and thought the hospital story was made up purely to promote the NFT.

If you needed any more evidence crypto is ran by immature alt-right tech bros, bitcoin topped out at $69k and it is currently bouncing from $42,420.

The reason my son couldn't buy the pet for real money in the Roblox game had nothing to do with tech. It's all policy. it's a vehicle for money laundering.

I like that the first "web3" app he built is a ponzi scheme. Says it all really.

Hey, don’t call it a Ponzi scheme. It’s a pyramid scheme, crypto scams are all decentralised.

If you are smart you aren’t into crypto. Unless you’re rich enough to not care about getting ripped off

Yeah, you’ve got to look for the scam with stuff like this although it is hard to see it since the book came through Christies (maybe one of them already owned it and bought it from themselves with crowdfunded money).

They’re stupid but the headline is a bit baity. They clearly state they know this doesn’t give them any exclusive rights, they’re just using it as a publicity method. Which is a good way to attract the attention of DMCAs anyway so, yeah, see: stupid.

At face value, they seem to think Jodorowskys Dune and Dune are two distinct entities.

There are the gullibles making a quick lucky buck / losing it all. The opportunists picking a few winners well, and getting the hell out quickly, then there are the scam artists who probably have a track record of some kind and use it to pyramid the fuck out a new shit coin (eg vaynerchuck), then you have very rich who know how to manipulate wider market for this stuff.
