Honestly (to put my accounting/audit hat on for a sec) it is bonkers that we don’t see more of this sort of thing. It’s a trifecta of fuckery:
- Get rich quick schemes which appeal to investors.
- Inflated asset values because the assets themselves defy objective valuation.
- Lack of independent regulatory oversight (either the sector is too new to have regs, or the assesors themselves aren’t independent because they are paid by the very business they are assessing).
This applies to just about any business, too.

Kind of a reality check in that he says if you dont have money, you cant really make life changing money without dumping it into a get rich quick scheme because sane investment for normal people yields just hundreds or maybe a few thousand a year, not millions. |
