I'm not sure if the scaling is the wonky parameter in all of this. I think they need more tiers in it.
Having WT1 & 2 handle all the content from 1-50, WT3 for 50-70 and then WT4 for 70+ is to wide a range. If they added more tiers with fixed difficulty ranges such as 1-10, 1-20 etc. I think you'll feel a sudden spike because your gear might suddenly jump your power to the next tier or further allowing you to bump the tier you're running but you can still play alongside others that are on lower tiers. Mentally you'll also think you've progressed. I understand why they've done it because of the huge open world and they want dynamic group play. The old D3 system created segregation where 5 hours into a season everybody had jumped to T6 and never looked back.
The whole sacred/ancestral was the wrong move because if they add a WT5 people will want the next gear name (Primal? Angelic?) and on and on and arist....
Also the damage buckets are stupid and it utterly gimps any sort of stat diversity because gearing has been solved essentially. You're always looking for very specific rolls and if you don't get them then the gear is vendor trash. These need to go or be reworked massively. Im hoping they just had a launch 'model' with the intention of large changes coming later, resistances being of no use currently for example

Made it to level 20 over the weekend. I had it on WT2 for the extra gold/xp but felt like it was taking a bit too long to kill the mobs so have moved back down to WT1 and it definitely requires a lot less thought now. May need to go back up a tier at some point for a bit of challenge but it's quite therapeutic steamrolling all the minions.
It really is lovely to look at - it's also quite loud so to avoid waking up the house I've plugged some headphones in which really highlights how brilliant the sound design is! (Also I'd forgotten about the PS5 '3d audio' feature - still not sure it's doing anything..)

I'm lvl 38 I think and probably halfway through Act 2! Considering dropping back to WT1 to steamroll through, although it's still pretty comfortable at the moment. My problem is I can't leave the side quests alone. Im on holiday for most of Season 1 anyway but it would be nice to get it wrapped up before it starts.

I wonder if the "spike" many of you are talking about is actually there, but it's inverted... and in defense.  I'm basically getting big jumps in survivability by upgrading gear. Able to stay in the fight longer. Able to take on more complex combinations of enemies. Stuff like that. So the gear is doing its job to a point, but this is far far less exciting than giving out a double-hard spanking all of a sudden.  |

When you go south from the tree of whispers, there's a ghost in the water that occasionally points to the west. And your character always says, "what" each time you go past it.
I stopped this time, cleared the area out and looked around. Apart from a statue of Lilith, I couldn't spot anything else.
Anyone know what this ghost is about?

Heh. Pretty sure I got a nice award from completing a quest, but my inventory was full so it dropped to the floor, at which point some other player pinched it 🫠

Yeah, I thought your loot only appeared to you unless you manually drop a yellow item.
Bit rubbish if full inventories trigger it to be shared too.

Tried to explore the dry steppes pvp area to get the renown for the map.
I'm sure you can imagine how it went.
Anyway, I've got an aspect now that has around 7-8% chance to cast an arrow storm where you're firing. Can have up to 5 active. It's actually useful for whittling packs down and I've got another aspect now that, as long as its not a boss, it will make death trap constantly re arm till it kills something. So standard for when there's lots of normal monsters about, but if you get a tough mofo and cast it, it just keeps re arming till everything is completely dead. Pretty cool.

I'm not entirely sure. I was wandering about, filling in the map, and then I thought I'd have a closer look at one of those Altars of extraction.
Soon as I got close, a character (possibly mine, but I didn't initiate it), said, "Greetings" and then 2 level 100 players one shotted me in an instant.
