Haven't seen much hype for this but D4 season 3 started today. I played through s2, but I've not great desire to do it all over again already. Would be interested if it had the teased update to loot, but think that's s4.

s3 hasn't immediately grabbed me as much as s2 did, the little construct seems a little underpowered at WT2 (hopefully it'll ramp up) and the enemies very samey

I'm probably done with D4. Got my money's worth but I just find it too samey. I get up to level 60 odd in each season then just give up.

I’ve gone in again. The construct seems alright, it’s killing things before I get the chance to at lvl15 but I’m sure it will balance it out later on. Gone Barb to check out the 900% buff to Charge.

Played a few hours of this season and I don't think I'll continue. The enemy counts are back down, the traps are irritating rather than dangerous and the spider robot doesn't seem to actually do very much. Bring back the blood harvest, this is just boring!

For someone who absolutely drained D3 dry I'm amazed how I was really once and done with the game after campaign and going through endgame. They properly dropped the ball on this at every turn, it's quite astonishing.

Season 2 was a lot of fun so it's a shame they've taken a step back here. Probably for the best with this season, with Infinite Wealth out tomorrow I didn't need something else taking my time.

I hammered it for a couple of months and tried to wring out all the enjoyment I could with different classes & builds, but still had to scratch the itch properly by sinking (a further) X hours into D2 Resurrected soon after that. I'd be very surprised if they don't bring in some major new gameplay loops for the first anniversary - player numbers must be flattening off really quickly after a season launch, it's dead on Twitch, and the forums (yeah I know) are at best very meh about it. D3 was pretty guff for its first 2-3(?) years, even after they got rid of the real money AH and rejigged the legendaries and sets (fucking hell give D4 sets and don't make them stupid to find/complete like the god legendaries bullshit. And then do Runewords or something? Anything to spice it up over a 4minute deliberation over which sidegrade drop benefits one of my passive skills less marginally) D3 only got really good, imo, with the complete overhaul that came with Reaper of Souls. D4 is a pretty good base to start from, but whether they can tractor beam people back in again is another question |

Yeah fully agree about Reaper of Souls it's what brought me back. The Crusader was such a fucking good class.

Got to Act 3 on this with a few mates and asked each other "why are we even still playing this?" and promptly dropped it.
It was all just so dull, brown and forgettable. Boss fights were decent but other than that it never did anything to sink its hooks in.

They had a solid base for the game, but the grind to 100 with a weak endgame put me off well before seasons launched, and I just couldn't be arsed picking it back up. Tried last season briefly but the spark was gone.
D3 has always been great fun just jumping into a season, getting boosted and then focussing on gear with set bonuses that actually made you feel like you're progressing at a decent pace. This just felt like a second job.

Didn’t play Season 1 or 2 but loot seems better and more relevant. From what I remember of playing vanilla was a fuck ton of shit legendaries. Quite a casual player so I doubt I’ll see the endgame.

As mentioned on the Xbox post, D4 coming to Game Pass 28th March.
I tried S3 for a couple of days, it's just so dull, and the loot is still shit.
In other news, Last Epoch 1.0 out 21st Feb, I'm kind excited to play a decent ARPG again.

If it becomes cheaper more quickly then I'm all for it.
I did give the soundtrack a listen some weeks back and it's really good without seeming like a rip-off. And I have honestly heard only good things about story, atmosphere and so on.

It's coming to game pass in a week, so also an option. Like I've said elsewhere it's well worth blasting through the story.
There's already far too much out at the moment that I want to play to tempt me back to it, but that does sound like a promising patch.

Actually rather enjoying this, they seem to have done quite a lot differently - also I may be imagining it but it seems smoother and better looking on my PC.

Got up to level 38 in one sitting today which surprised me as it took ages when I first did the campaign. Using a minion necro at the moment and it's stupidly overpowered for the first 2 world tiers, will see what happens when I open 3 up next session.

Tentatively rolled a new sorceror and had about an hour so far. Think I'll lean towards fire this time as there's quite cool abilities there. Curious to see just how much things have changed.
The one thing that annoys me is the skins in the shop. They are cool as fuck, yet pricey as hell. You'd need to spend about £20 for one complete set which is just silly. If they were cheaper I would have probably bought one by now.
