Watched the first episode of this before work this morning (wife and kids are away so I can do silly things like this). I know nothing of the comic, it was brilliant. Can't wait to watch more later.

Think I’m going to call it a day on 4 episodes.
Admittedly I’m coming at this as someone who hasn’t read the comics and it all seems very slick, but I’m just finding it a bit dull. It doesn’t really seem to be about anything. Just the main guy trying to find his hat very slowly and people talking a bit whilst stuff happens that doesn’t seem to tie into anything.
I’m sure it’s great for aficionados, but it’s just not for me.

The story does go to some *very* interesting places once he gets his shit back.

At least the comics did and it was all inter-woven pretty well.

Yeah, even the comic was a bit dull before he gets his shit back. It's worth sticking with.

I found the last 4 episodes really dull.
The Vortex storyline just seemed like B grade Dr Who.

It's been many, many years since I read the books, and I'll admit to not understanding all of it (Moore's "From Hell" had a companion volume that explained stuff - Sandman could have done with something similar) but I'm four eps in and really enjoying it.
Bizarrely, Mrs Boo, who would line the cat's litter tray with graphic novels, is enjoying it immensely too.
Morpheus seems well cast, as does Lucienne. Wasn't sure about Constantine getting a gender swap, but I thought the actress nailed it. Lucifer was suitably creepy and the Corinthian looks like he's just stepped off the page.
Be interested to see how far they get with Season 1. I'm guessing they can't tell the whole story, but if they keep the quality up, then I really hope it gets a second season, and more if need be.
And let's all be thankful that Zack Snyder didn't get anywhere near it.

Enjoyed this, though my only frame of reference is the audiobooks which were (mostly) brilliant. Hope it gets a second season, and more.
I'd never really appreciated trigger warnings before though, and after the missus was left in floods of tears following a certain scene with death, I now suddenly do. This needed one.

We’re two episodes in and I’ve got to say I’m really bouncing off this. Biggest load of edgelord toss I’ve seen in a long time and about as coherant as The Witcher.
But Mrs Shark has taken a liking to it so I guess I’m stuck with it.

Yeah, isn't this anti edgelord?

Yeah, isn't this anti edgelord? To me, "edgelord" is something like Preacher or The Boys (less so with the TV adaptations), something that trades, at least in part, in being offensive. Nfi what's offensive about this. Pretentious, maybe, and I guess Dream is a bit of a moody "humanity sucks!" goth type. But he gets better!

Hmm, my interpretation of edgleord is more emo, overly brooding, Shadow the Hedgehog, Jared Leto falling into a vat of Hot Topic. You can’t say the show doesn’t fit into that category.

Its that moody, brooding gothic stuff that was big in the 90s. Edgelord stuff is, imho, things that are self-conciously 'edgy' and push boundries for the sake of it rather than having something interesting to say.
You could maybe argue that some of the serial killer stuff went a bit far or Thewlis's Diner of Horrors was a bit graphic but it was still trying to make a point.

At any rate, you could replace Morpheus with Shadow the Hedgehog and there would be no disconnect.

You can do with with most characters in most shows. Phil Mitchell? Replace with Shadow the Hedgehog. No difference.

Slightly more hair and eyeliner on Shadow.

I struggled too watch a second episode for the first four shows. Ironically, I was just so tired after trying to sleep during the day during that confounded hot weather. Once I had a day off, finished the remainder. I thought it was great, captured the spirit of the comics so well. The cast were great, the sets fine. It felt like it did a lot in so few episodes.

I finished it yesterday and loved every episode, though some were admittedly better than others, The Sound of Her Wings being a standout for me. Been a fan of the comics since they first came out, so was pleased with how close the show stayed to them. The changes, for the most part, made sense and I didn't have a problem with them changing the gender or race of some characters, though I bet that bugged some of the usual suspects. Overall I thought the casting was spot on.
Hope it's done well enough for Netflix that it doesn't get canned. Saying that, it's currently showing as most popular on Just Watch, though I don't know where they get those figures from?

Really enjoyed the whole season, I have read some of the comics but it's not something I was a huge fan. The extra episode was very good too. I certainly enjoyed “The Sound of Her Wings” the most, maybe it being the most standalone of the first 10 helped but it was a genuinely fun episode. It was a bit surprising they did a cot death though, blimey.

It really is a great show, the vortex storyline wasn't anywhere near as interesting as the early plot threads.
Hoping that the next series improves on the last few episodes.

Ken and Barbie having a friend called Sindy was a rather subtle joke I doubt many would get outside the UK.

I’m still being dragged through it. It’s plodding and meandering but it’s getting better.
Shadow and Lucifer’s duel was ridiculous. Why not just say I’m the antiques roadshow. Every Sunday. For the rest of time. Outliving the universe. Fiona Bruce. Phwoar.
