I made smash burgers for the first time yesterday and fuck me I had no idea just squashing the burgers and adding cheese would taste so good. I'll only be eating smash burgers now.

Wait until you try pressing your gruel down with a potato masher.

Mung dahl. Hotter than I intended, but still very tasty. Possibly my best ever dahl.

Home made 'takeaway' chicken kebabs, surprisingly pretty good though the shop bought garlic sauce was a bit crap.

Roast chicken thighs with nice crispy skin, some pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puds and gravy and onion sauce. I fancy some half decent stodge today

Can't go wrong with fish fingers to be honest. Got to be in a decent crusty baguette or something though, you can keep your boring white bread.

I want the cheapest fish fingers - of the lowest possible quality - sandwiched between two absolutely bog standard slices of soft white bread, slathered with tartar sauce.

Just found a (homemade) sandwich in the fridge from last Thursday, apart from cold it's surprisingly fine otherwise, waste not want not.

You shouldn't be allowed tastebuds.

What's the score on Air Fryers? They seem to be a bit of a trend atm, are they worth looking into or just another fad?

Every time someone buys an air fryer another episode of Mrs Brown's Boys is made.

Apparently you can only fit 16 fish fingers in them.

It’s really just a countertop convection oven. Fine for convenience but doesn’t really do anything you couldn’t achieve in a regular oven, just does it in a shorter time. And any halfway decent oven has convection abilities anyway.

Overheard someone in a shop earlier: "They're supposed to be really great, they fry food without any oil!"
They're just a small fan oven, not a physics defying device you fucking nitwit!

They also use far less electricity than cooking the same food in an oven, which is really the appeal here.

A smoked salmon and roast vege cous cous to start. Followed by a tagliatelle with chicken and mushroom in a red wine sauce. And a lovely strawberry ice cream for afters.
