I am home alone (well apart from the kids) and failed to get my customary dirty pizza, so have meagre offerings of pasta reheat from last night, cheeky oven chicken burger/nugget wrap with chips or a jacket potato as I can't be arsed to cook.

Judging by the huge amount of green beans that my partner has got from the garden, green beans with a side of something.

They might well be but they will always be bait to me, same for cockles and clams. Countless afternoons in the hot sun with a bait bucket full of not food grade bait and it sticks with you. Living where you live, have you not tried tellinas? One of my favourite dishes. Simple and so delicious. Bait my arse. That is bait too. Honestly after the mussel debacle molluscs are off my list. I know they are good and have had stuff like that in the past but it's kind of like 'I'm never drinking ouzo again'. Which I'm not. Oysters I still like but unless it's a Bear Grylls situation I'm not keen on the others. Scallops maybe, I have no beef with them. Just bacon.

I'm sure it's lovely, but a beige bowl of snot wouldn't be top of my list of foods to try.

Ingredients are all solid and like I said I'm sure it tastes nice, it just looks like a bowl of snot.

Nah, a dish like that is crying out for the umami kiss of a nice dollop of HP sauce.
Or failing that some salad cream to match the beigeness.

Don't judge a book by its cover and all that. That's not a book; it's a bowl of snot. Put that with a plastic cup of bubble tea and you have a perfect meal of vomit.

I've just bought a bag of MSG. Mostly as a joke gift for my son who loves the Uncle Roger videos on YouTube but also because I'd quite like to try adding to some stir-fry and veggie rice dishes.

I wouldn't mind finding some msg too just to see if it makes much of a difference with some Chinese recipes I do and apparently it is the missing ingredient that elevates home made KFC style chicken.

You eat with your eyes and all that.
"Congee or conjee is a type of rice porridge or gruel eaten in Asian countries. It can be eaten plain, where it is typically served with side dishes, or it can be served with ingredients such as meat, fish, seasonings and flavourings, it is typically served as a meal on its own, especially for people who are ill."
A gruel for the unwell. What a treat!
