Bugger it, Vortex : I’m off wheat again, as it is THE DEVIL’S FEAST.

Bugger it, Vortex : I’m off wheat again, as it is THE DEVIL’S FEAST. Don't tell the devil, but I could possibly be tempted to sell my soul for a lifetime supply of these bad boys. I could go another right now. Too many might lead to type 2 diabetes and that lifetime supply might not be for long, but fuck it. Sooo goood. Sorry.

Chicken (cold) and (bland) tomatoes tonight, a seemingly very basic meal/combination but actually pretty tasty, keeping on the diet so far, looking forward to cutting loose tomorrow night.

Leftover sausage and mash. No gravy cos I'm lazy. But the mash had lots of cheese in so I think that offset the lack of gravy.

It was steak pie tonight. Puff pastry lid only, was a bit too sunny for it, but it hit the spot regardless.
Can't beat a steak pie.
Or anything in pie format really.

I felt bad to begin with but it just didn't need it. I had gravy with the meal proper yesterday, but today was just lazy slob mode.

A few bites of veggie souvlaki which was full of beetroot when I very clearly specified it should have no beetroot in it whatsoever. Donated it to a kid, didn't eat anything else. Now 16 hours later and very hungry.

Now 16 hours later and very hungry. Grabbing a takeaway? No, I'm going to starve to death so that souvlaki truck really knows how bad they are. And beetroot is rank, and oozes all over everything. Same reason I don't like fresh tomato in sandwiches/wraps/souvlaki.

No, I'm going to starve to death so that souvlaki truck really knows how bad they are. Seems extreme, but I admire your dedication Beetroot isn't an issue here yet, but I get where you're coming from, I think

It's pretty much the only vegetable that's an 'absolute no' for me. Along with offal and shellfish.

Beetroot is amazing. One of my favourite veggies.
I tried making beet kvass once which didn't turn out too well. Fermentation never kicked off so it was just beetrooty salty water.

Non-authentic arrabbiata (no pasta for me: see Exercise thread).
Fry an onion and some garlic in light olive oil. Add a pepper and keep frying. Add a tin of tomatoes. Add salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, basil and oregano.
Grate cheese on top.
Yum. It.
