Bacon milkshake does sound like the kind of thing you'd innocently look up on urban dictionary, then instantly feel like you need to pour some bleach into your eyes.

No, that would be a Dirtpipe milkshake.

I've been marinating some chicken thighs overnight, 3 with a dry rub from Szechuan peppercorns and stuff, the other in a soy sauce, shichimi marinade. Hopefully at least one batch won't be rank.

We eat loads of that, the Mrs loves Korean food. That looks like the spicy one, the royal Ttekbokki is really nice too.

That looks and sounds great. Honestly takes zero effort. Well, maybe a little effort if you're making your own dashi (I did, obvs)

It's the original version of the dish, when it became more common as a food to eat from roadside establishments the spicy one became more of a thing. They are both delicious though.
Korean food is great (although I avoid the seafood side of it as I'm not the biggest seafood eater).

It was one of the best things about living in Vietnam with how much Korean food was available due to how many North Koreans there are in the country.

I've got a couple of bits of salmon. Can't decide whether to fry or bake them.

By far the hardest thing about fasting is doing it on your own. It's not so bad when you've got others around you for solidarity but honestly with the kids demanding food and drink every ten minutes I feel like I'm going insane.
Anyway, I'm having some of their leftover (home made) pizza and the rest of the tteokbokki tonight. Trying to resist the temptation to order something in.

Chicken and leak pie with roast potatoes, for me a bit labour intensive but well worth it, tastes as good cold the next day.

Bison sirloin tonight, will roast some new potatoes and probably some onions too. Time to open some red wine I think. Enjoyed that. WTF is that random bit of meat hanging out the bottom of the otherwise neatish spray? Don't people have any pride anymore? Pots are a bit random too.

Double cream, chicken stock, white pepper and smoked paprika go in. Everyone here seems to like it; we had it on…Wednesday, I think.

Bacon, good shout, think my mum may have added that back in the day, might try that next time.

I like how you included the "just hurry up and take the bloody picture!" bit of body language.

I was convinced there was a hair on one of the plates, but then I realised it was a hair on my screen.

I don't like seafood at all but I love oysters. I try and eat a different type of seafood each year to see if my palette changes but nope, oysters are the only one I could ever stomach.
I'm a fussy snob.

Of all the things I would have thought oysters would be the thing that people can't stomach.
