Subjected the kids to Toad in the Hole last night. They're British too so they'll just have to suck it up. That's a great meal really, sausages and batter, what's not to like. My kids would kick up because they're idiots, even though they like sausages and they like batter puds but put 'em together and "Compooter says No".

Yeah, we need a cross section with the filling oozing out. This is all getting a bit sexual...
Absolutely love arancini balls!

'cross section' isn't usually a word I associate with sex.. but I have led a sheltered life.

I ate them all before I could do one, but please know they were stuffed with taleggio.
Also made a totally sub-par tiramisu. Don't think I beat the egg yolks enough, or maybe I was too rough folding in the mascarpone and egg whites. Tasted great but it was too runny.

Veggie noodle stir fry, with Pak choi, peppers, sugar snap peas, fresh ginger, with a soy and kicap Manis sauce. It's ace.

Rosemary sausage, chips, and beans.
Dutchy Organic baked beans are cheaper than Heinz and they’re alright once you get some fresh pepper in there

I'm going to make a spicy tomato sauce and have it with some herby pasta, and lots of cheese on top and extra little tomatoes

Dorian - sort of Japanese cottage pie. But with rice instead of mash. And more curry. And cheese on top. In fact not really cottage pie at all. Pissed off at one of my boys who's picked the lovely gratin topping off what was going to be my lunch tomorrow.
So rice on the bottom, Japanese curry mince on one, fried aubergines on the other for the veggies, tomato sauce on that, then mozarella and panko on top, in the oven till nice and brown.

Doria (no n ) is one of those weird 'Western-Japanese' dishes. It doesn't usually have curry, although it does occasionally. It's kinda like a pasta gratin dish, but with rice instead of pasta. It's usually shrimp or basically bolognese sauce. We have a constant stock of $1 frozen ones because it's the only thing my daughter will eat if she's sick. [edit] Now I really want Shepherd's Pie!

If you want a Sheperds Pies of The World theme, try Bobotie. Curried mince with like a super creamy omelette type thing topping

Japanese curry is a bit different, but cheese works ok on it. Heck, they put everything on curry. Croquettes, Burgers, Egg, etc...

Doing shepherd’s pie tonight, but with a sweet potato and parsnip mash, rather than potatoes, as the little ‘un has a bit of a “thing” currently about not liking mince and mash together.
So, base is onion, lamb, stock, carrots, black pepper, mint and rosemary, and the topping is the veggie mash thingy.

Cheese on curry doesn't sound that great. Punjabi people would disagree, Paneer Although I suppose it's not ON curry, it's part of it.

If you want a Sheperds Pies of The World theme, try Bobotie. Curried mince with like a super creamy omelette type thing topping Mrs Toast hails from SA so this is a regular fixture for us, along with bunny chow and sambals.

Wunty would also disagree with his curry sandwich with a bit of cheese (which admittedly sounded fucking good!)

Agreed, I have decided I really want one so homemade burgers it is. I'm having mine with brie, bacon and an egg. Ketchup and maybe mustard. The rest will no doubt want rabbits food on theirs.
