For what it's worth he asked me to his office the next day and said I don't have to get the medicine. Only if I want to. Probably good for the students to get used to the smelly foreigners.

I forgot to update this.
I wore a tie, no dramas.
But no matter what I'd worn, I doubt I would have been the one to upstage the bride. One of her mother's friends wore a wedding dress. She was not getting married.
