First time going round the arc de triomphe was an arse puckerer Am I right thinking people in France have to give way to people entering the roundabout? No. Their roundabouts work the same as ours except you go round them the wrong way. But on roads without markings you give way to anyone joining from the right. Caught me out once driving through a small town because I didn't know the rule. I'm paranoid about it now.

There's a roundabout near my sister's house (in France) where people quite literally go round the wrong way, if it's quiet... They can't be arsed going all the way round.

It's not a roundabout if it's not in the le roundabout region of France.
Otherwise it's just a circle for cars

Not to be one to defend tesla in any way, but don't they say that about birdshit on cars in general? I imagine it's way worse with non protected stainless steel regardless.
How did the delorean get around that issue, or did that have a protective coating?

Not so much the bird poo they chose for the headline, but the handbook says to immediately wash road salt, grease, tar etc off, which means it’s advising you to inspect and wash your car after every drive. The delorean was clear coated steel as far as I remember

Can we ... cut... Elon's Dad's dick off instead? Struggling to think of a downside.

I'm guessing literally everybody on earth already saw this years ago so I'll stick it in spoiler tags so as not to spam up the thread but, if not, Simone Giertz did the tesla pick up truck so much better i remain amazed elrond didn't just say "yeah, do that"

Cybertruck's advertised range is 320 miles. Some testers are barely getting more than 200 out of it.

It's nothing new, but Christ Twitter is unusable now. So many bots or blue ticks replying to every post, its difficult to follow any discussion or anything. Think I might have finally got to the point most others got to a while ago.

It's all about the engagement now, so any post worth reading gets filled with spambots. These days my feed is mostly full of people dying in a variety of accidents.

I follow a fairly mixed bunch on Twitter, and whilst years ago I posted fairly often, I only read now.
My feed used to be good, getting a mix of opinions from both left and right, but mainly from people who at least articulated their points and there was on occasion some semblance of debate. Now it's predominantly right wing nutjobs, fight or accident videos and clickbait nonsense. At least the crypto/nft stuff has died down.
Community notes don't seem to deter people from outright making shit up (and leaving it up) and the bluechecks have made trying to read replies pointless.
What I find really noticeable is the change in ads. Those community notes seem to be appearing on a load that I see. I frequently get ads for random tat, which comes with a community note saying to be careful as it is likely from a company just shipping from AliExpress and the chance of counterfeit goods is high.
And then the other day, a crypto ad which had a CN saying "this is a cryptocurrency scam that can steal your money from you bank accounts" - how the **** can an ad stay up when flagged as a scam?!

I really need to get on mine and curate it a bit. The only things the accounts I follow on twitter post now are 'I fucking hate twitter'.

I've noticed that I get a lot Andrew Tate wannabes in my feed even though the people I follow make me a woke lefty. It sometimes defaults to "for you" instead of following which tends to dump a lot of that shite in there. Especially now that Ads don't always get marked as ads and appear like normal posts, and those weirdos pay for their tweets to be served as ads.
That latter change of ads not being marked as ads might be because of that whole mrbeast video directly on X thing, they were serving it as an unmarked ad to inflate the view count on it.

How is Bluesky? Relative to Mastodon or Threads or Twitter?
One thing I find interesting is that I haven't seen or heard anything about Bluesky or Threads anywhere except here. (and a couple of BBC articles on Threads when it very first launched). Not seen anyone mention them anywhere, or any company with a link to them on a website, or anything like that. I've seen a handful of developers/journalists with Mastodon links, though it's pretty rare.
PS/ It really seems like competing platforms should have the 'find your friends' thing built in if they want' to attract users and keep them.

Mastodon seems ok for following people who post about particular things you're interested in, but I found it very dry and lacking in daft, surreal, irreverant shitpost type stuff.
Bluesky is a bit less stuffy and more fun, but still seems a bit under-populated, and I never see anything in the suggested "discover" feed that interests me. (I also have codes if anyone still needs one).
Also, I still rely on Twitter for breaking news/world event stuff. Like recently when there was an offshore earthquake and tsunami warning in China, I was seeing much more current stuff about it on Twitter than anywhere else (mixed in with the usual misinformation and clickbait older videos)

How is Bluesky? Relative to Mastodon or Threads or Twitter? Since I joined it, the only three accounts I mainy see posted from are Fesshole, Cats Of Yore, and Neil Gaimans' personal account.

Bluesky is unashamedly twitter c2010 with no users. Its like Ford selling up for 4bn and management immediately going off to create Fjord whose first car is the Razzle and looks like this. I genuinely can't get over how brazen it is. Its just insane and nobody seems to be mentioning it.

Reckon he retained some code rights when he sold/has the IP for some of it. It is almost identical, it's true.
