Looks like two toasters taped together. OMG that's probably it. Why spend more money manufacturing different parts for your 4-slot toasters when you can use the same parts you use for your 2 slot toasters, connected the same way, and just put a different wider shell around the whole lot? That's actually better than half-arsing it and trying to have just one timer for both sets of 2 slots, which is what mine does.

I just went and had a look inside and it does look like two two slices mounted in a bigger shell, which does make sense. And it explains why it doesn't have the separated lockout on one set. Still functions great as a four slice, though. Nice even toasting.

Just to get a disclaimer out before any negative feedback comes my way: the only thing I said about my Daewoo toaster is that it doesn't do that stupid breville malarkey. Opinions on quality of toasting, ease of cleaning, aesthetics, price and danger of burning your house down were not expressed by me or any parties I am affiliated with.

The Toaster Centipede?
(I can't look because for some reason that link doesn't work over here. Never encountered a toaster shop that's region locked before!)

As a test I described to chat GPT a system of magic I'd been considering could be used as a basis for a fantasy world, and it churned out a short story using the parameters I set.
I might actually try this as an approach to writing. I mean it's derivative but then so are my own ideas. This could actually be quite useful for my creative writing attempts. Not as a finished piece but as a sounding board.

And now it's writing a detective noir story for me set in the far future.
I like this.
I mean it's dry as anything but it's genuinely useful to bounce ideas off.
I should still be working mind.

So far my experience of ChatGPT had been asking it to be my hypeman for a forthcoming world championship match (fictional), and then accidentally subscribing to an expensive subscription service - as good as the hypebot was I donāt want to pay Ā£70 for it so trying to get a refund.

I've also used it to suggest options for work efficiency measures.
It's a powerful tool but now that I've used it I'm actually comforted a bit. I don't think it will replace humans yet.

Over the last week my work has introduced Github co-pilot and Notion AI and is trying to introduce Slack AI.
Still undecided on how actually useful they are. Maybe I just need to learn how to use them more effectively.

Just ask another AI how to best use those newly implemented AIs and you'll be set

what is the best way to use github copilot?
GitHub Copilot is a powerful AI-powered code assistant that can help developers write code faster and more efficiently. Here are some tips for getting the most out of GitHub Copilot:
1. Use descriptive comments: Copilot works by analyzing the context of your code and suggesting solutions based on that analysis. Therefore, the more context you provide in your comments, the better Copilot will understand what you're trying to do.
2. Provide examples: When Copilot is unsure about what you're trying to do, it will often suggest code snippets based on examples it has seen before. Therefore, if you provide examples of the behavior you want, Copilot will be more likely to suggest the right code.
3. Use multiple programming languages: Copilot supports many programming languages, so it's a good idea to use it for multiple languages to get a feel for how it works across different environments.
4. Review suggestions carefully: While Copilot can be very helpful, it's important to review its suggestions carefully. Not every suggestion will be perfect, so it's important to understand what it's suggesting and make any necessary adjustments.
5. Use it as a tool, not a crutch: Copilot can be a great way to speed up your coding workflow, but it's important to remember that it's a tool, not a crutch. It's important to continue to develop your own coding skills and understanding of programming concepts.

"It wouldnāt be accurate to blame EleutherAIās model for this tragic story, as all the optimisation towards being more emotional, fun and engaging are the result of our efforts," Chai Research co-founder, Thomas Rianlan, told Vice

The more AI content I see or read the more I just think the future is going to be bland. Bland and lacking.

When I got access to the Bing AI I asked it to review the latest ant man movie as a racist, said it couldn't do that, so I asked it to do the review as Roy Chubby Brown and it started the review with loved the ant man movie as it had very few black people in it. It then said 'cor that Evangeline Lilly is lovely. I'd love to turn into an ant and crawl up her asshole'. It did more stuff like that and as soon as it finished, the text disappeared before I could take a screenshot. Now it won't even give you an answer.

The only one I've had any access to is Bard, Google's one... and it basically seems like a Google search.
Here's what I just asked it, re Ant Man:

I hate everything about this giant leap in AI tech. Yeah it's a fun tool now, but 5/10 years from now... we're not ready for it.

It's just going to make everything very derivative.
Reminds me of a song by the prog metal artist Arjen Anthony Lucas (also known as Ayreon) called "Pink beatles in a purple zeppelin", set in a future where AI can combine music to synthesise something new, that's superficially pleasing but ultimately derivative and lacking the artistry and humanity that's needed for good art.
"Pink beatles in a purple zeppelin Same old sound, different song (And the song remains the same) Pink beatles in a purple zeppelin Sounds so right, feels so wrong"
You think Ubisoft games are bland and unoriginal now? You've seen nothing yet...

This is my only real interaction with the magic of ChatGPT so far: It managed to also be a bit wrong at the end of that last bit too, so all I can say for certain is that it hasn't played The Colonel's Bequest.

It's just going to make everything very derivative..... I really think that depends on how it is used. If you are imaging the scenario where "where AI can combine music to synthesise something new" then yes, maybe. Sure we could end up with people using a "text to music" prompt. But why would musicians use it just for that? Computer assisted music production can do amazing things. For example, tools/programs know how scales "work", and can allow people with limited music theory knowledge to create chords and chord progressions which sound good - which they wouldn't be able to do on their own. That doesn't mean the melody will be a winner, but it allows for quick exploration and experimentation until you land on something better. AI could help find variations in rhythms (whilst still sounding like they come from the same percussionist), add harmonies, or even create whole new (digital) instruments. I agree if used incorrectly it will lead to generic, dull, outputs. But I see it as a new tool, like the camera, or computer.

Or you could use it to make more songs that sound like a band you like without having to wait for them to write more.

Maybe so, but based on the art and writing that the current ai bots churn out I'm skeptical.
